Wisdom of the Ancients Bombilla Strainer Straw - For YerbaMate or Any Tea

This bombilla is amazing! When I was recommended the Yerba Mate tea and saw this grouped in in Amazon where customers also purchase, I researched and saw this was basically a tea-strainer straw. I do not know how these are not more popular, this thing is amazing! I always spill loose-leaf tea with tea balls and this just saves the issue. While you have to worry about people touching or assuming its something else, it really is awesome. When cleaning just use hot water and soap, you can blow through the straw to dry it on the inside or shake it around the air to make sure air flows through to dry properly. I did read somewhere that they recommend to replace every 7-8 months so just be mindful this isn't a permanent 'for life' purchase. I definitely recommend this to everyone! *Also I wish the red dot was a jewel, it's just red paint/plastic accent.

Long ago, I purchased a Gourd and Bombilla kit from Guayaki Yerba Mate. Though the gourd lasted awhile, the bombilla was terrible and did not strain and was not dishwasher safe.This bombilla is a breath of fresh air in comparison. It is very easy to clean and dishwasher safe. I have not had any issues with tea leaves and herbs coming through the straw, so it is very effective at straining.I use it even when I drink bagged tea, as a (hopeful) tooth protectant.If you are in the market for a bombilla, though this one is more ornate than others on the market, it gets the job done and done well.

This is my first bombilla so I can't compare to any others; but this is what I have experienced:* It never clogs and it is always easy to sip from. This is a good thing as this bombilla does not allow for internal cleaning.* It gets extremely hot in newly prepared brews. The plus is that it forces you to wait for the tea to cool. There have been reports of mouth cancer from drinking very hot liquids through a straw. Nevertheless, my next bombilla purchase will definitely be wood unless there are metal bombillas that offer some insulating properties* It is exactly one inch too short for the vessels that we drink our tea from so we have to 'fish' the bombilla out before drinking. If you use a tall glass you might want to measure the height before ordering.

Really great quality bombilla! I love this and am about to buy another one because my boyfriend always uses this when I want to lolI have a cheaper kind of bombilla I bought somewhere else and it seems flimsy whereas this one is sturdy, seems like it's going to last a long time, lets hardly ANY tea leaves through, and just looks very authentic.I highly recommend this one if you're looking for a bombilla.

This is a wonderful bombilla, works great with my Mate.What was not clear to me is that the picture shows only the straight part of the straw when in fact, the whole length starts with brass curved lip piece then what you see in the picture followed by and opposite curve (S curve) to where the spoon shape filter is. All is silver with the exception of the mouth piece.This is much prettier than the picture shows.

Good way to drink loose tea. The bombilla is a very sturdy metal and appealing to look at. It is, as others have mentioned, a bit shorter than it looks from my photo. Mine measures about 6.7" inches long. Maybe that is normal if using a gourd, but it's shorter than I expected.Minor detail there, I'm otherwise very happy with the product.

Wife more happy with this "Bombilla"

Excellent quality product for a good price. Would definitely recommend. One note: I was surprised as I thought the tea straw had a red crystal or bead recessed in the handle, but it is painted with a red dot. It does not take away from the beauty or quality though.
