What is the difference between coated and enteric coated?

Hello. Enteric coating, also referred to as Safety Coated on Bayer Low Dose 81mg and Bayer Aspirin Regimen 325mg, is a delayed release coating to provide protection against stomach upset. Enteric coating prevents the disintegration and absorption of the aspirin in the acid environment of the stomach. This formula is designed to dissolve in the alkaline pH of the intestine. Enteric coating allows the aspirin to pass through the stomach and into the intestine (to the duodenum - 1st part of the small intestine), where the tablet dissolves in a more neutral environment and releases the aspirin into the bloodstream. Because the tablet passes through the stomach before dissolving, an enteric-coated aspirin helps avoid the stomach upset that may occasionally occur with non enteric-coated aspirin.

Does it come with a guarantee?

No. As far as I know there is no guarantee for any over-the-counter (OTC) drug because everyone has a different metabolism. I know for me this is one of the few OTC medications that has helped my arthritis pain. It isn't perfect but I am able to walk and do more than with most OTC meds.
