We started using this one yesterday and we both still love them! As a homeschooler, these books are an invaluable resource that covers so much....reading, comprehension, science and social studies. Also great for giving them test taking practice! Well written, amazingly informative for short reads, and most importantly: Interesting for both kids and adults!! Review: Great supplemental resource! - Trying to boost reading skills in a non-traditional thinker. For years we've been discussing whether it's more important that you understand what the author was trying to convey or whether you are able to interpret the information presented and find a way to relate to it on a personal level. This series is a clear cut demonstration of learning to read to comprehend the author's intent.

Quick, Interesting, Informative
The stories are interesting and informative. They are long enough to provide interesting facts and information, but not too long where the reader gets bored or distracted. My son is in the 5th grade, but is a very good reader. So far he is doing well with the information and enjoying the reading.

Good variety of nonfiction reading - but only 20 reading passages
The comprehension questions are fine, but the best part is the variety of facts in each short reading passage. If you are going to make your children/students read - then this is an excellent tool to practice reading and learn facts at the same time. The only real con is there are only 20 short passages.- wish the book was longer!

It is a great resource to generate classroom discussion
I use this as an Adult Education instructor. It is a great resource to generate classroom discussion. Students frequently want to look up more information about the topics.
