Highly recommended, these pants are awesome for hot humid weather!
I love these pants! I live at the coast, it gets very hot and humid and regularly I have been using the Convertible style for years from spring until fall and have yet to wear out a pair! I got a new job a few years ago and my boss won’t let me wear shorts. This year I told him that I had to have something cooler to wear. He said as long as it wasn’t shorts he was okay with it. I knew exactly what to get. These fit the bill perfectly, are great for summer and have a 50 SPF rating! A lot cooler than the poly/cotton chino style uniform pants I have been wearing year round. These paired with Columbia Omni Freeze T-shirts, polos and their lightweight vented Tamiami shirts have made a huge difference in my comfort this summer and I get compliments from coworkers that they look nice. The boss hasn’t said anything. The material is very durable to be so lightweight, and dries very fast if they get wet for any reason. Tons of pockets keep everything in place. Two deep slash front pockets in the front, when I say deep I mean like almost mid thigh deep(one of my favorite features nothing ever falls out when sitting down, more on that later), two fairly deep rear pockets with Velcro flaps, and two fairly deep side leg cargo pockets(easily will close with regular iphone in a case and probably would with Max), left side has a zipper which I normally leave unzipped for quick access to my cellphone, and the right one has Velcro flap. My only complaints are occasionally the waist seems a little tighter and the front slash pockets aren’t as deep on a pair compared to other pairs I own. The waist is very minimal and still wearable in my regular size, however the front pockets from my best measurements can be as much 1.5-2” difference. Just be sure to try them on before taking tags off, just like any Columbia clothing their sizes can vary from one item to the next. These have overall been true to size in waist and length. Highly recommended 5 star warm weather pants!

The Columbia Silver Ridge Cargo Pants, have been an exceptional addition to my wardrobe. These pants are the perfect blend of style and functionality, offering a comfortable and versatile choice for a wide range of outdoor activities and everyday wear. I am delighted to provide a five-star review for these fantastic cargo pants. Comfortable Fit: One of the standout features of these pants is their comfortable fit. The size 44x34 fits perfectly, and the adjustable waistband ensures a snug yet non-restrictive fit. They are comfortable for long walks, hikes, or just everyday activities. Durable Fabric: The fabric is not only comfortable but also highly durable. It can withstand the wear and tear of outdoor adventures and remain in excellent condition even after repeated use. Versatile Cargo Pockets: The cargo pockets are both functional and stylish. They provide ample storage space for essentials like a phone, wallet, or keys while adding to the pants' rugged and outdoorsy look. Sun Protection: These pants feature built-in UPF 50 sun protection, providing an extra layer of defense against harmful UV rays. This feature is essential for outdoor enthusiasts who spend a lot of time in the sun. Moisture-Wicking: The moisture-wicking technology ensures that sweat is quickly and effectively moved away from the body, keeping you dry and comfortable during physical activities. Stylish Design: The City Grey color and design are not only functional but also stylish. These pants are versatile enough to be worn for both outdoor adventures and casual outings. In conclusion, the Columbia Silver Ridge Cargo Pants are a five-star choice for individuals who value both style and functionality in their outdoor clothing. These pants offer a comfortable fit, durable fabric, versatile cargo pockets, and essential features like sun protection and moisture-wicking. Whether you're hiking, traveling, or simply enjoying a day in the city, these pants are a versatile and reliable choice. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking comfortable, durable, and stylish outdoor pants.

May Need to Buy One Size Up; Very Casual Wear; Thin but Durable Material
As another reviewer remarked, the waist size is not true, at least for the 34, which I wear in almost every other style and brand. This 34 waist size is too small and tight in the waist and seat. I've purchased these pants over a number of years and the sizing has never changed. I've also purchased the Columbia "utility" pants that are very similar, and the waist-size difference is the same. The 36 is a bit big and baggy, but I sweat easily and these are my go-to for very casual wear, primarily around the house and working outside in warmer weather where the priorities are comfort, coolness, light weight, durability, and cargo pockets, and these check all the boxes. The cargo pockets are large and I like the Velcro to keep things secured, and has held up nicely after many wearings over years. I generally wear something a bit more upscale and closer fitting when going out. They also come with a belt, which is simple and very practical. It buckles, unbuckles, and cinches and expands easily and quickly. I generally leave the belt on the pants when they go in the wash (buckle them if you do). There has been no shrinkage or fraying of the belts in the washer and dryer after dozens of times. The pants are durable. The material is very thin but I've worn these for years including crawling around on my knees and have never worn a hole in them or ripped one. As one or two reviewers mentioned, I have occasionally noticed a thread coming out on a couple pair (I have 8 pairs various colors), but cut the loose thread and melted the remaining end, and have never had any part/piece come apart because of it. Although I can see it possibly happen. Closely inspect threads when you receive them as well as trying on within 30 days. Wrinkling has not been an issue. Colors have not faded and no shrinkage over many wearings/washings. This is nylon, so avoid hot dryer temperatures and hot iron. I have never had the need to iron. If I did I would start on very low heat. The price drops a few times a year to between $35 and $45, which is when I pounce.

Very nice pants.
I normally wear 34x31 in jeans. I bought several of the Pilsner Peak, the Silver Ridge, and Blood and Guts pants for comparison. Pilsner Peak pants: Fits a bit slim. Especially at the waist. Probably closer to 33 inches than 34. It rides a bit lower on the hip than the Silver Ridge and therefor a bit snug in the crotch. The length are the same. The Pilsner Peak are closer in style to a typical dress pants. Just one extra slot for pen or knife. The rear pocket is not flapped. The fit at the thigh is good for me. I have medium/thin thighs and it's not snug, but just right. If you have large thighs, you'll find these might be too slim. The leg then drops stragith. Material is woven, feels very nice. It's light material. I like it more than the nylon feeling of the Silver Ridge pants. Silver Ridge pants: the fit is very similar toe the Pilsner fit in that it's a bit slim. There's more pockets at the thight and the rear pockets are flapped. There is an elastic waist. It does come with a pretty cheap but functional 1 inch nylon belt. It rides just a bit higher on the hips than the Pilsner and the fit makes your butt look better. The material is more of a typical nylon feel. Not as comfy as the Pilsner but is still very comfrotable overall. Blood and guss: much looser fit from the hip down. If you want lots of flexibility in movement, this is your pants. The waist is a bit slim like the other two pants. There is minimal elasticity. The material is the thickest of the 3. Doesn't mean it's thick, just a bit thicker of the 3. Still a summer pants. Because the fit is loose on my thighs and lower legs, these are my least favorite of the 3 pants.

Good for long term investment - Sun, Outdoors, Travel, Casual-wear
The most comfortable pants I've found and weighs less, even lesser than some shorts. And can be machine washed regularly. After folding takes as much space as a t-shirt. So they are ideal for travel. Carry 2-3 of these while travel and all will fit in carry on bag. So far I bought 2-3 of these - fossil, gravel, black. And regularly wearing these for the last few months, especially in in the summer (it has high SPF sun protection), it feels quite breathable and airy inside. But if you are actually sweating they get wet too as you sweat, and dries fast. I stopped wearing jeans and lightweight sports pants, and I haven't found any other pants so lightweight and comfortable, at the same don't look somewhat like dry-fit or fleece pants, they look more like cargo pants. They are lighter than many sports pants yet you can wear in office as casual-wear. They have side pockets at the knee levels - on both left and right (one zipper and one Velcro). These side pockets are best for storing wallet and keys securely. Back pockets are not suitable here as the material is super thin - it will feel like you are sitting on your wallet. I prefer clothes which don't need ironing after machine wash (may be I'm a bit lazy for doing ironing), and very few pants meet this criteria - these do. The crumpled-ness goes away soon after wearing it for a while. Also avoid the light colors unless you don't strongly prefer that, I got food stain in one and after several wash it's not fully gone, a light patch is still there. It wouldn't have been visible it were a dark color. Apart from Columbia, I think North Face also makes similar product, which also contains detachable lower half. Also watch out for price fluctuations, I bought one pair at $50 from Zappos only to return it and buy again on Amazon at $35. ********* CONS *********************** P.S> I'd complain about the quality of the belt - it resembles more like a thin luggage strap with plastic buckle. I often considered to using it to strap my suitcase instead :) ... However I guess there is a positive side of everything and it won't be fair to complain - because the last two times I traveled through the airport screening, the TSA officers kindly relieved me from the pain of taking out the belt ! (they say plastic belts are okay).

Best hot weather casual summer trousers ever.
Urban female who walks a lot here - I’m happy with these. (Mens pants are more comfortable and usually made better, hence the choice.). Lightweight, flattering - they come up to the waist as pants should and have fabulous deep pockets you would never find on a pair of women’s trousers. They run small - I added a couple of inches to my waist measurement to figure the size - any extra fabric gets cinched with the belt and makes for a flattering fit that is nice and roomy. You can fit your phone and your keys in the pockets, they sink way in. Paired with a scoop-necked snug sleeveless T, an open oversized light-weight long-sleeved shirt, broad-brimmed summer hat, sunglasses, a good pair of sneakrs, and a large over the shoulder bag from ManhattanPortage to carry water bottle, emergency snacks, sweater and a light-weight shawl for places with A/C.

Lightweight, Not Moisture Wicking
1. Lightweight? -- Yes. I've hiked in a few states wearing these and they are very light, some of the lightest that I have. 2. Moisture Wicking? ---- No. No by all means no. That's the largest draw back for these. Now maybe I sweat more than the average person, or maybe (which would seem odd) these aren't meant to be used for long day hikes. But if that's the case buyer beware. If you thought these would wick moisture, sweat away, these will not do so. 3. Sun Protection?---- Maybe? Hard to tell. No sunburn on my legs but I normally get sunburn on my face and neck. Since it's hot outside now (currently July 2019) and it's hot where I live if someone were to ask if these are okay for summer I would say yes, but keeping you cool doesn't seem to be the function of these pants so come with that expectation. 4. Overall Opinion?--- Buy if on sale/warehouse deal. I really needed another pair of hiking pants so I bought these. Unless they are significantly discounted I don't plan on buying these again. They are very light, easy to walk, small jumps down rocks, moving over trees and in narrow passages and more on hiking trails, but again, it might just be me, but I sweat a lot, and I'm still on the look out for a good moisture wicking pair of hiking pants. To note, yes, they dry faster than a pair of jeans...But I feel that's the ultimate extreme. When I hand wash these at home or in a hotel if they are not hung up to dry over a wall AC unit they won't be dry by morning time. Also the buckle attachment on the belt will come off in the washing machine (did for me twice) so if you're easy to lose parts I suggest removing the one removable buckle part and putting it back on once these are dry.
