RM Series Replacement Remote Control for SONY RMT-D251P

It's a sad day when your 20+ year old DVD recorder remote control finally gives up the ghost, so we were delighted to find this replacement. I chose it over another make that looked just like the original because the reviews and the seller's description Inspired confidence. Very glad I did. No instructions are needed and we were recording a programme while watching a previous recording within minutes. Very happyEdited 12 March 2022. Unfortunately this remote has just died so it lasted 19 months in all, much less than the original. However the alternative options look even less promising, plus we have an Amazon Prime free trial this month meaning free delivery to Ireland, so for a tenner I'll probably buy this one again!

Worked fine with the DVD recorder - however could not setup the remote to work with my TV. The original TV remote would work with my TV and the programming sequence for the remote to do this was given in the manual . However the same programming sequence not work with the replacement. Hence only 4 stars.

At last I can use my 11 year old Sony DVD recorder properly again after many of my old remote's functions stopped responding! :) This remote has all the functions, although it did take me a little while to locate some of them as the layout is not the same as the original. Recommended if your machine is fine, but your remote is not :)

Doesn't work / sync up to the dvd player what so ever.Would like a refund

Exactly what I needed to be able to use my old Sony DVD recorder.The controls are all in different places but you soon get used to that. I’m absolutely thrilled. I didn’t use my old Sony DVD controller with my Sony TV so it makes no odds to me if that function doesn’t work.It arrived, put in the 2 AAA batteries and everything on the DVD recorder worked perfectly. Many thanks.

This seems to work as expected but I do have some comments (not complaints):Batteries are not supplied – fair enough – but it uses AAA whereas the original uses AA so these cannot be simply swapped over and the new size needs to be bought before use.On/off – input – a gotcha: the On/off button is now top left instead of top right which is now the input selector. Working out where the funny patterns on screen came from took some time! I often turn off while a menu is showing which is the reason the screen gets strange patterns which is due to my habit of using top right for off.Using 2 recorders needs each zapper and machine to be “paired” using a 2 button simultaneous action on the zapper. I assume that this works but I changed both my recorders and the other original zapper so that the new one was left on default (3)The label text under the buttons is very small as are the icons.It is what it is, it works solving the problem at a fair price delivered inside advised date.

j'en suis très fier de cette télécommande de remplaçante et je n'ai pas eu de problème et en plus ça fonctionne très bien , j'en suis très content de cette article merci beaucoup à vous.

Remplace la télécommande d'origine, je peux enfin me servir de mon ancien enregistreur numérique.Le positionnement des touches n'est pas comparable avec la télécommande Sony, il faut chercher la touche correspondant à la commande que l'on veut effectuer mais tout fonctionne parfaitement.

La posición de alguna de los botones es distinta a la del mando original, pero una vez que te las aprendes y te acostumbras su uso es completamente satisfactorio. Por ser también crítica, yo noto que la parte final del mando al cogerlo es algo incómoda, pero no interfiere para su uso

Cette télécommande m'a sauvée grâce à elle je peux utiliser mon disque dur salon qui date et que j'adore. Toutes les touches fonctionnent. Merci
