I bought this item after searching the internet for a long time. It allows me to use my inexpensive rifle cleaning rod that has threads that don't match the cleaning jags I have purchased. Delivery was about two days which was considerably faster by about two months from the only other online source I could find. The price was about the same and it works great.

I purchased this Pro-Shot adapter to use along with a 5/40 to 5/40 female/female adapter so I would be able to use my oddball 5/40 male ended RWS .177 cal cleaning rod for my larger .22 cal air guns. The Pro-Shot adapter has a 5/40 male thread on one end and 8/32 female on the other so it can be used with standard 8/32 male end .22 cal jags and brushes. This threaded brass adapter is nicely made in the USA and has tapered edge on the 5/40 male end so it is smooth and won't damage the rifling if it comes into contact with the bore. A very handy adapter and well worth what I paid for it here on Amazon.

Great quality adaptor. Allowed me to use my 17 caliber cleaning rod in my 22 rimfire rifles. I would definitely buy again.

I bought an Outer's cleaning rod from Wal-Mart that came with an adapter for the larger more common cleaning rod attachments. The adapter had a wide diameter and was made out of steel and was knurled so it wouldn't fit in my 22 barrels without scraping the barrels (works on larger bores just fine). This adapter was just what I needed at the right price. Small diameter and brass so It doesn't scratch barrel of my .22 lr guns and it allows me to use all my standard cleaning attachments in my .22 barrels without fear of damage. I bought two because they were so cheap and I couldn't find them at my lgs or 2 other big box sporting stores that sell guns/ammo so I figured I'd have an extra on hand.

Now I can use a .20 cal. bore brush to clean a tight chamber .22lr.

it's exactly what it says it is. It'll allow me to clean my 22lr with a thinner rod.

Purchased this tip to use on a rifle rod that was made for 17s. This tip will fit and application for calibers 22 all of the way up to 45. It is not thin material and feels like it would hold up to some abuse. I will purchase a few more to keep with different cleaning kits. I do wish that it would have come with some sort of case or box so it is not free floating in my range bag by itself.

I have a dewy rod. First replace original with cheaper set. It bent right away. This one is stronger fits good.

The sticker on original product was for $6 surplus, with shipping that became $18 - on discount! Crazy. And unnecessary, as I actually had to go to the post office and sign upon receiving, as if this was a massively valuable delivery...As far as product goes though, good quality and decent fit. It is a tad bit loose, but once tightened up - works perfectly well, dimensions as expected, and it is well made.
