Sleek, quiet, easy to use. Lid rests on hydraulic button the eases it down after lifting with the sturdy foot pedal. You can open the lid wider to stay open while the entire insert pulls out by the easy-to-grab handles so bag can be pulled out without making a bunch of noise, bag changed and then return the insert into the main can. Then just put the lid back into normal position and let it close on it's own. It's completely silent. The asthetic design is very nice - the brushed metal finish would blend with most modern kitchens and the lid seals very well so odors don't escape. The can is light enough to move easily but heavy and balanced enough to keep from tipping, so could help keep nosy pets out. There is a hole along the back of the insert which, if the rim opening of your bag doesn't cling to the insert and is a bit loose after you fold it over the edge, you can poke the bag through the back, grab it from the inside, pull it gently tight around the rim and hold it there as you drop the insert back into the unit, and once the insert is settled let go and the bag should stay in place. Took me a couple of times to figure it out but it works well to do it that way. The Kroger brand kitchen bags are that way... a bit loose. But the Glad brand kitchen size bags are tighter and pretty much stay on their own. So it depends on what brand you get. I believe the hole is to allow air out as you fill the bag, but I found it has this dual purpose. Overall, I really love this unit (as much as any human being is opposed to love a trash can), and I'm going to buy one my one for each of my married kids as a gift and another one for upstairs. Even if they might seem pricey at first, it's a good quality and I expect it to last a long time. It seems very well made. Oscar the Grouch would be quite impressed. I'll never buy a "cheap" trash can again.

Decided to wait a while to do this review so I can address durability. I have now had this trash can for about 2 years and am very happy with it. Other reviews mention that the lift mechanism breaks easily causing the lid to slam down or not close 100%. I have had zero issues with my can...still works and looks like new. As far as cleaning the exterior, I just wipe it with anti-bacterial wipes and dry with a papertowel. No problems there. The inside of the lid is rusting but I spray the interior with Lysol when I change the bag so this is the likely cause. RE: closing issues, you have to buy the correct size bag to avoid bunching and also tuck the bag in away from the closing mechanism when putting the inner can in place. But do those things and it works like a charm.

Well made and heavy built. The inside is removable which makes cleaning super easy. The foot lever is large and easy to use. I had to buy large rubber bands to hold the bags and sometimes the lid doesn’t quite close all the way without a tap of the hand, but overall am pleased.

10/10 highly recommend- fabulous step feature helps to eliminate the nastiness of having to actually touch the top lid of a trash can in order to open it and works as it should- seamlessly and effortlessly with a soft close feature and eye catching design that allows the trash can to be set out in an area that you’d otherwise cringe to look at a trash can. I needed a small but not cheap looking trash can for a tiny and inconvenient place. This trash can looks so good and does the job while being compact. I can fit a week’s worth of cotton balls, Q-tips, and small pieces of trash. There’s no issues with the lid mechanism either. Highly recommend!

My kitchen is very small and trash can fit perfectly in the cubby hole. It seems to close shut after each usage and it take my concern of of a bad odor away. It also is not wobbly, its sturdy

Es cómodo que tenga el pedal por fuera para abrirlo fácilmente ya que hay otros que lo tienen como por dentro y se dificulta meter el pie. A diferencia de otros, aunque sea de 30L, es mas estrecho pero mas alto, siendo más cómodo también para tirar la basura.
