Oatey 29024 Safe Flo 0.117-Inch ga. Bulk, Silver, 1/2 lb.

This is the best solder I've ever used. It melts and flows easily, and it bonds very well to copper, brass, and even steel. I was using another company's silver-solder, but the higher melting temp frequently cooked off the Flux. This Oatey melts and flows much easier. >> It was purchased primarily to solder brass Copper-to-PEX conversion adapters during plumbing upgrades (photo), but it also works on steel. >> I recently made a little tool (photo) to straighten tiny molex prongs on an iCult Tablet circuit board - with a needle (stainless or chromed steel?) attached to a piece of mild steel - and it actually worked! Used when trying to solder stainless steel spoons together. Didn’t work for that but worked well for other projects.

Ran some 1/2” copper pipe from the air compressor to the hose reel. No air leaks so far. Make sure to prep the pipes and fittings. use flux only on the pipe and not in the fitting.

Half the price then at the box store. No issues, perfect size for repairs.

I had to sweat fit copper that was going to get a little hotter than typical solder could take. This worked well

It was good, but a little pricey.

I have been using Oatey Safe Flo for years and have found it easy to work with and effective. Out of many copper/brass sweat joints I have only had one leak, and that was due to my error in a situation where I did not dry the pipe sufficiently before adding in a valve.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: The amount I needed. Value for money: Good value.
