Japanese Visual Dictionary: A photo guide to everyday words and phrases in Japanese (Collins Visual Dictionary)

One of my favourite little dictionaries, because it shows a picture with the English word, then Japanese spelling and then the phonetic pronunciation, which makes it so much easier to learn the words. The book also contains a link for the audio too which is really useful.

This is a great guide book to referance and learn a few extra words but it isn't as comprehensive as i'd have liked, but for its price and what it does do its good. This would be better marketed as a tourist phrase book rather then a dictionary in my oppinion, but again i iterate its not a bad book just not a dictionary.

It is a handy little thing. There are nice pictures. It is easy to use. It doesn't take a lot of space. Modern words.

Bought for my Japanese Anime obsessed son. He struggles with reading so this guide is great with the pictures and it come with a link to audio. Really impressed.

I'm learning Japanese through duolingo and am getting the hang of the grammar but needed a way to learn new words and get used to hiragana, katakana and kanji. I love carrying this around so I can look up new words when I'm practicing sentences. It's got some really useful phrases for travellers and its arranged into helpful sections. I love it!

very confusing, not linear and finally not very usefull

This is great for people visiting Japan and wanting to make the effort to try and speak the language or those learning it. It has wonderful illustrations making learning the words easier as well as their English translations. It shows you the object, writes it in Japanese ( kanji/hiragana/katakana) , romanji, which is the English alphabets used to write the word and in English. The audio chapters to have the book read to you is an amazing bonus material as it also provides the knowledge of how to properly pronounce the words. So if you are having a hard time pronouncing the words or phrases this bonus audio book that comes with it is extremely helpful. I would happily buy this product for any language i would want to learn.
