Solved My Helmet Problem
Problem: I have a bald pate, I ride in a southern US climate with lots of bright sunshine and my vented helmet does not protect the skin on my head from the sun.Solution: The SPEC UV-Pro Cycling Head Cooler Cycle Helmet Liner Beanie Cap Skin Cooler (if I were the manufacturer, I would shorten the product title and make it something catchy like "Cool Beanie" or "Beanie For You Baby".Several discussion items. My head is very large: 7 5/8. One size fits all and one size fits most products do NOT work for me; they are just too small. If I can even squeeze them on, they constrict at my temples and cause headaches.BUT, this product is sized (mine was a L/XL). The sizing showed in the Google search but did not appear in the Amazon product description. Was very relieved when I first tried the Beanie Cap on; fit perfectly. Not loose, not snug, just right.Very lightweight, comfortable material. Feels good against my head. Doesn't feel plasticky or artificial. When riding, wicks the moisture away from my head and aids in cooling. The evaporating perspiration does leave residue on the Beanie Cap so it needs to be washed daily (I am a daily bike rider for exercise) To clean it, I just rub a dub dub quickly in the sink with a spot of detergent. No sunburn on my bald head. No criss cross tan pattern on my head from the helmet vents.Haven't had it long enough to know how long it will hold up. Seams are well sewn and it appears to be well made. I would NEVER pay the $25 RRP but the Amazon price was reasonable and I am glad I took the chance.I searched the many local bike ships in the large southern city where I live. None of them carry an item similar to this.
