Total horror anarchy from the makers of THINGS!In 1989, filmmaker Barry J. Gillis and friends renewed the world's faith in Canada with the horror brainbomb known as THINGS. But that was only the beginning. Virtually unseen until now, WICKED WORLD is not only Gillis' 1991 follow-up to THINGS--it's also a new form of genre anarchy. Grant Ekland (Gillis) is a cop who is haunted by the death of his girlfriend at the hands of a psychotic slasher named Harold. When Harold is released from an asylum, there's only one option for Ekland: revenge! Filled with metal riffage, gnarly ultra-violence, and experimental techniques, WICKED WORLD feels like what would happen if Salvador Dali injected acid directly into his brain while staring at a Cannibal Corpse LP cover. This is a highly personal treatise on the toxicity of society from one of the most singular filmmakers in trash-horror history. If you survive WICKED WORLD, you'll never forget it. Please note that WICKED WORLD was shot on 16mm film and edited on tape. This transfer is taken from the original 3/4"master tapes.SPECIAL FEATURESNew transfer of the original cut from the 3/4 master tapes! Unseen 2019 director s cut! REALITY: BEHIND THE SCENES OF WICKED WORLD documentary! Marshall Law music video by Barry J. Gillis! Reversible cover art and more!

An interesting (polite way to say it) look into cinema
Thank you Red Letter Media (RLM) for showing us this bizarrely made film. I'm still stumped what was happening during certain scenes, but certainly entertained throughout.

I love this movie.
I love this movie. It's absolutely not for everyone but if you're a fan of "so bad they're good" movies, then this is a masterpiece. The kills are so strange and make no sense half the time, random sound effects everywhere and a nearly impossible to follow story. It's just unique and bizarre and a real sight to behold. I'm a huge fan and supporter of Barry J. Gillis and I haven't seen a movie by him yet that I didn't love. Things and House of Many Sorrows are also great ones to check out if you love this as much as I do.

Pure Uncut SOV Madness Mainlined Into Your Brain
Barry J Gillis, writer, producer, star, of another SOV horror treasure Things, decides to add one more plume to his cap by directing with this cavalcade of WTF moments that are stitched together into what is supposed to be a serial killer horror movie. Its best to go into this cold with as little knowledge as possible to really experience the thermonuclear crazy it has to offer. Random music, even more random dubbing, weird plot tangents, gratuitous nudity, splashing of gore, this movie is pure SOV brain melting goodness. The movie never slows down during its, sizable for a SOV movie, 100 minute run. It has a mad out of nowhere energy like a naked man racing out of a cornfield being chased by a scarecrow hopping on its post. Once seen never forgotten, but like an alien abduction really difficult to explain to anyone who hasn’t experienced it themselves.

AMAZING re-release
As a fan of Barry J Gillis' film THINGS I was excited to see that a film of his I had never seen was getting a re-release, Wicked World did not disappoint. The film is truly one of a kind and if you are a fan of cult cinema I can not recommend it enough. The 2019 re-release has the original cut from 1991 as well as a polished up 2019 directors cut which I watched first. The special features section is pretty packed as well and includes an hour long documentary about the making of the film. Oh and the blu ray jacket is gorgeous as well. Highly recommend.

The 2019 Directors Cut is Awesome...
The 2019 New Directors Cut Version, is what I urge you all to see first... (The Older Version is also on this Release) The New Improved 2019 Version has better Visual Quality, and Better Sound. The 2019 Version has been Re-Edited From the Original Master Footage, and has Additional Footage, Audio, and Special FX, not appearing on the Older Version. The 2019 New Improved Version is a MUST SEE. There are Lots of extras on this Release, including a 60 Minute Behind the Scenes Documentary, and much more... If you love Trash Horror Movies, WICKED WORLD just might be for you... :)

great THINGS follow up
I loved this director's previous movie THINGS. I saw it before there was any indication that the director film makers had made any more movies. Many years later all of a sudden the director film makers have several other movies on their filmography. I could not wait to get the Wicked World Blu Ray DVD set, as all the listed films after THINGS were not available on home video/ Blu Ray and DVD.I really liked the movie and have watched it over and over, and I hope the directors other movies can be released on home video Blu Ray/ DVD soon.Wicked World is very unique and original, so I can't compare it to anything, even THINGS!
