I used these on my 2004 Mercury 4 hp outboard motor. After removing the broken bit I compared the old with the new using a magnet. The old piece did not attract the magnet while the new one did, meaning they are different types of stainless steel. Also the threads of these are a tiny bit shorter than the stock grease fitting. I do not think it will be a problem so I am happy with these fittings.

What more can I say, they fit Yamaha marine outboards perfectly and they don't rust.
