expensive alternative in the hunt for lower calories 40 vs. 360
Taste wise, I'm asian so the hint of shrimpy fishy smell doesn't bother me. The smell is not foreign. Texture and consistency - it is like eating asian hair or rice noodles. So, the slight rubber texture, again, is not foreign. Price wise, pretty expensive vs. noodles, like 5 times the cost. But, considering the calories drops from 360 to like 40 or below for other similar brands and the sodium is non existent, it is a lot healthier. So I guess healthy comes at a cost.

Strange texture in last 2 orders
Both this shipment and the one before had bags (1 last time, 2 this time) that were really weird. The noodles were extremely thin and wiry, very tough, and about half as much in the bag as they should have had. I usually really like this product. I buy it for value and size of the portion, but these weird bags just kind of blew that all to pieces. I'll try again, but if I get another one of those weird bags I think I'll stop buying this and choose something else. The weird ones are inedible.

Yum
Yes, they have a fishy smell straight out of the package— all Konjac products do— just rinse well and it will go away. I dry fry them in a pan for a few minutes then add soy sauce, fish sauce, chili paste, etc. They’re a delicious low calorie/carb alternative to ramen especially if you’re gluten-free like me.

It's a suitable carb substitute, but not great
For a carb substitute, it does its job. The rice has a texture that takes getting used to. It's tapioca-like with a bit of chewiness. Same goes for the noodles. I've made fried rice and ramen so far, and will turn elsewhere once I've finished these.

Good if you are desperate.
After they are washed the odor goes away. Reminds me of the smell of a bag of new industrial rubber bands. Whew! But they have a rubbery texture, I’ll stick to the cheap market generic brands

Great if you can get past the smell
Texture is excellent for a low carb alternative to regular ramen noodles. I don’t consider myself a picky eater and love seafood, but I just can’t get past the fishy smell of these noodles. I can even smell it over the sauce or broth I add. Just not for me, but a great option for those looking for ramen style texture and eating low carb.

Normally great, but this shipment was “off”
Noodles were not hydrated…tight and tangled about the texture of thick fishing line. Normally, I love this product, but the low review is because there is no way to get credit for the bad item. If there is a way to get replacements, please advise and I will revise the review. Thank you!

Skinny Ramen style has the best texture out of any shirataki noodle I have tried
I have tried a large variety of Shirataki style noodles including angel hair, ziti, capellini, tofu shirataki spaghetti, making my own, and now the Skinny noodles ramen. When I saw them I did not think they looked any different other than color from the tofu shirataki and I was not fond of the texture those. When I saw them in person I was not eager to eat them and thought I ordered 12 bags of noodles that I would not like. They also smell a little worse in prep (rinse) than the normal but that goes away with the pot boil like any other. I rinse them again before I put them in the pan. I know they have a couple of different ingredients but my expectations were low. I rinsed, boiled, pan-fried, and then prepared them like dry ramen and sat down to eat. I was very surprised that the texture is different. They are not just colored shirataki noodles designed to fool the mind. They actually have a softer bite even than the tofu style. So far out of all the shirataki noodles, these have the least amount of that weird texture. I actually am happy with my order. I can eat them daily or whenever without enduring such an unusual texture. If you have tried a quite a few like I have and just stumbled across this Skinny Noodles Ramen-style variety I think it is worth a try for sure. They are different and are better. They have 4 net grams carbs I believe.
