This story is a classic. The book is perfect! The cover feels solid and sturdy. The pages are crisp. The binding is tight and there IS actual tape along the book's spine. The printing is vibrant and clear. A great gift!

Love how repetitive it is for my young children. They can basically read (tell) the story with me. Good message as well.

Excellent book with a timeless message about selflessness and helpfulness. I gave a copy to my step children who like to sit around and watch their mom do everything for them. I wonder if they'll get the hint.

I bought this book because I had "The Little Red Hen" when I was a child. My parents gave it to me when I was first learning how to read. This copy of "The Little Red Hen" is brand new. This Little Golden Book is a Classic Edition with a copyright date of 1954 and a renewal date of 1982. The illustrations are colorful and captivating. The colors are bright and hold the child's attention. The front cover shows a mother hen with spade in hand, ready to plant her seed. Each page is loaded with colorful characters who are full of action and interest. The message of the book is simple: Those who work hard will succeed. Those who loaf will not receive a reward. [My copy of the book disappeared years ago. I bought this book for my children's book collection]

The little red hen asks help from her friends and none of them help her as they are busy with their own work. She works all hard from planting a wheat seed to baking a bread. At the end of book she enjoys the treat. My kid enjoys 'Not I' the most.
