Above Us Only Sky[Blu-ray]

"Above Us Only Sky" has a lot going for it: loads of footage of John's first son, Julian talking about his time as a child at John's Twittenhurst estate, pristine footage of the making of the album "Imagine", and some seriously great music. However, at the end of the DVD, the real reason that this new documentary exists becomes painfully apparent - Yoko wants the world to know that John actually said she should have been accorded a songwriting credit on his song "Imagine". And so, his recorded voice explaining Yoko's "contribution" is front and center as the film winds up. While I'm sure it was said with loads of love, the reality is that if Yoko had had an actual hand in the writing of the song, "Imagine" would have included her screeching & caterwauling or 5 minutes of silence which would indicate her actually "imagining" the song in her head. Yoko's continuing sell-out of John's legacy is endlessly galling, but probably in keeping with what John would have wanted had he lived & had they remained together. So, for the Beatles connoisseur, this is a satisfying if ultimately insulting experience. Just so you know what you're getting ahead of time!

This is a fantastic documentary and it is a must-have for anybody that is a fan of John and Yoko. Great footage of the Ascot Mansion where John Lim following the Beatles break up and a grape record of just how things were done there. It primarily focuses on the making of the album imagine. Really great footage. All your friends were there oh, John, Yoko, Phil Spector, Klaus voormann, Etc. I found it very interesting, and very entertaining. There's even footage of your young Julian Lennon playing with some friends on the 99 acre estate.

I like this DVD and I found a lot of discussion from the artists. John Lennon and Julian Lennon had a lot of interesting things to say. There was talk about John being totally separated from the Beatles to the point where he never went to the offices where the Beatles recorded in their studio.

I liked all of it very good , John Lennon my favorite. From day one.

I'll make this sweet and simple: This is one of the best documentary's that I've ever seen and I've viewed them all! Outstanding! Excellent! BUY IT!!!!

Very disappointed. Just a bunch of random stuff thrown together for marketing it seemed. Not what I expected...donated it.

Whether you are a life long John Lennon fan like me or a new fan, very entertaining and gives a good insight into his life after the Beatles.

A fantastic film. Practically a home movie. Shows the real love between John and Yoko💖

Although touted as a brand new documentry on realise a lot of it I've seen before. Still there's enough new footage to make it a must have for Lennon /Beatles fans.

Love this insight into John and Yoko it still moves me when I hear him singing, great dvd to have in your collection
