nice looking and compact.. for me ok
very nice point & shoot.. but drains its battery fast, and im not completely sure but I think it may also drain some while is off.. charge battery completely full and put it back in cam turned camera on to make sure it was working and back off right away when I went to use it 2 days later the battery was showing 1 bar low.. I just ordered new battery extra for back up.. also the higher and best settings the less battery life and lets not talk about hd video even shorter time also zoom and viewing pics drain battery real fast.. when photo taking I set mine manually for scene or regular auto the SR auto setting sucks because when sometimes recognizing a scene it picks the wrong one and you'll end up with blurry pics..

10 Year old bought this
My oldest saved up her allowance ($5 every two weeks then $10 the last couple weeks) to get this camera. My husband and I picked it out for her after discussing price range. This is our 3rd Fuji camera. My husband got me a refurbished bulkier version way back in 2002 when we were first expecting our oldest. I upgraded to a bigger one in 2007. Sorry for the lack of technical verbiage!Anyway, I do like Fuji over other brands because of the button. It presses down half way very nicely. You then see green if it's focused or red if it's not (as far as I know most digital cameras do this). Something simple enough for my daughter as well as me!It takes pretty decent pics. I'm still playing with the options as sometimes they end up grainy. I know it's not "child friendly" but it's been a great first starter when for a budding photographer (and now she leaves mine alone!) It's also been nice to pass off the picture taking to her as I have been slacking over the years hahaIt's easy to use (another reason we stuck with Fuji, we don't have to re-learn buttons & menus) The screen is nice and big. It charges quickly & holds a charge.

Bought Two; Both Were Defective
I received one free on a Mattress sale promotion at Macy's. It had a permanent dull spot in the sensor which produced a spot in every photo (yes, the lens was clean). But, I loved the camera, so I bought a replacement from Amazon. This second one had a defective flash. It worked a couple of times, then quit. I tried resetting to factory settings, various program modes, recharged the battery, inserted a new battery, and tried forced flash but still no flash. Now, my problem is this: I love the size, 10X zoom, 16 Megapixels, and weight of the camera. The photos were fine; no issues. So should I buy another one or not? I am thinking to look for a newer model, if it exists.

My iphone takes better photos
Although this camera has more features, my iphone takes clearer pictures. It is an okay camera, however, I am not too happy with it.

I love it.
I had a similar Fujifilm several years ago that I loved--crisp pictures, very user friendly. I use it to take pictures for my show dogs for my web site primarily. It was great. I slipped in the mud and fell on it. I tried to get another one, but Walmart basically had only the Canon Sure Shot, and I got it, thinking there wouldn't be much difference. I was wrong. I struggled for two years trying to get pictures--the Canon only got good pictures in perfect light, and then not always. Even the best ones lacked clarity and definition. I thought it was my bad photography. I finally just went ahead and got the closest Fujifilm to the one I had and I adore it. Of the first 5 pictures I took, 3 were web-worthy. The clarity is great, the camera is easy to use, programming it is easier than the Canon, and it compensates well for all kinds of light conditions. And downloading pictures from the camera is VERY easy with Windows 8.1 compared with the Canon for some reason. I'm being very careful with it--I treasure it.

This product had all the features I was wanting in a point and shoot camera. It worked properly for three days. It then gave an error message that can only be fixed by the manufacturer. I am returning it for a refund. This is the last time I will purchase a refurbished product.

Great Little Point & Shoot Camera
My husband chose this camera for me after doing extensive research. He chose it for the price and ease of function.I wanted a camera that was intuitive to use and didn't take looking in the manual to take a simple photo. I love taking photos, but I don't want to become a professional photographer. This camera takes beautiful detailed photos and is easy to use.It has a button near the top of the camera to move the lens closer for long-range photos. You can turn off the flash and still take fairly decent indoor photos in places you can't use a flash. You can switch between viewing the photos you have taken to taking photos with a separate button on the camera. It has an energy saving mechanism, though, that you will need to understand. If you are waiting for a perfect picture, the camera will turn off to save energy. So, you will either need to increase the time setting or move the focus in and out so the camera will not shut off. This camera has many other features within its menu; but if you don't want to deal with all of those and just want to take photos, this camera is the one to buy.
