Lee Kuan Yew played the pivotal role in Singapore’s transition from British Crown Colony to independent developing nation, and on to the economically powerful and diplomatically influential city-state it is today. Throughout this surprising and at times painful journey, he has proved a charismatic and occasionally controversial leader. Lee is a conviction politician whose speeches are unambiguous, characterful and eminently quotable; this collection of almost 600 short quotations provides a compelling summary of his views on a wide range of topics from Singapore’s past, present and future. In Lee's own words: "I have been accused of many things in my lfe, but not even my worst enemy has ever accused me of being afraid to speak my mind." , Review: Incredible book about an incredible man! - This book is amazing! It's like a Poor Charlie's Almanac of Lee Kuan Yew quotes and each one is timeless in its wisdom. It's awesome that each quote shows the year as well so you can see how his thinking evolved over time as well as how brilliant he was at identifying problems that are still totally relevant and true today. Review: Wit - Yes - but Oh what wisdom! - Once again the wisdom shines through, in this case eased by a healthy dose of wit. Little wonder that successive leaders from around the world have beaten a track to his door in the hope of sharing some of his experience and knowledge gained in the real world of politics, compromise and understanding of human nature.

Good Insight on Government That Works
It is like reading the history of Singapore. In some ways, it is about survival. However, it also reflects the results of some of the social experiments implemented in Singapore. You can see how Lee Kaun Yew's thinking evolved over the years. One might not agree with everything he said, but most would agree that he made many good decisions.

Lee Kuan Yew is the greatest politic of the modern time.
Nobody alive is in the class, league. Nelson Mandela was. However, his course, aim was very specific, inapplicable for usual countries. Lee Kuan Yew's experience, assessments are most valuable, modern and applicable.

A different way of telling a story about a key politician
A book of Lee's quotes through the time and topics. Although short I grasped pretty much the wit and wisdom of Lee Kuan Yew.

... concept and more "administration" and "politics" can create a good, strong and developed Nation
This is how right concept and more "administration" and "politics" can create a good, strong and developed Nation. No natural resources, no great educational institutions yet establishment of strong national character and a firm resolve to dedicate everything to Nation's development are the highlights of Singapore and its leaders so capably led by Lee Kuan Yew come thorugh so powerfully to the readre that one is drawn to reading and internalizing the message! The world evidently needs more human beings like the author and the teams he built. Great experience that educated, enriched and inspired!
