Android (not Xiaomi)
I don't have a redmi 7a but have a 6a which also has 16gb of ram. I have lots of apps installed and have not run out of space yet. Android 6 had the possibility of configuring the SD card as internal storage. I believe they removed this in later versions of Android

Not enough storage to run android effectively
It is not possible to configure the sd card as internal storage, and therefore apps cannot be installed on the sd card. It only has 16gb of internal storage, so only a couple of apps can be installed before it stops working. I have tried to return it for a refund, but so far Amazon have only offered me 'Hermes dropoff', which doesn't have any locations in my city... UPDATE: after finally getting through to Amazon customer service, I was given a drop-off option and a refund.
