Don't be fooled...the fan even on the lowest setting is much louder than any normal laptop fan noise - Fans at full speed are as loud as a hoover.You can feel the really cold air disperse out from the left and right hand sides of the pad, and it just seems like a lot of the cooling air is wasted due to the way the laptop sits on thing...The speakers are louder than my laptops, but the sound quality is AWEFUL - to put it simply, the sound is very muffled and with it coming out at the back behind your laptop screen, this is made even worse...it's just bad and you cant enjoy anything over the noise generated by the cooling fans anyway especially when they are on full speed.If you don't care about the speakers, or the noise, the cooling does do a job at reducing laptop temperatures for sure, but I would recommend a simpler pad with fewer poor quality features, capable of doing the same thing with less noise.

The fan is good but a big pet of why I bought it was for the included speakers, and the sound in those are very flat.

it worked for about three hours the sound quality was awful too.

First use was OK, but Note, it will not fit any higher than a 17" laptop, my alienware 17 R3 only just fits on and the fans arn't even where the vents are, still a nice purchase though as i am currently using it on my bed (yes, on my bed without anything under it apart from duvet) and it still runs ok, there are 2 little vent holes at the top end of the cooler which im guessing takes in air when the underneith of it is closed off... (duvet etc), its also nice that most coolers dont allow you to be able to use on your lap (E.G coolermaster U3 digs into your legs) etc, but this seems to be ok, only issue is, I used this with the speakers & the cooling at the same time while my laptop was not charging, it instantly went 100-0% screen brightness and the cooler turned off (possibly shorting? wasn't chancing a £2k laptop). the only way I could get it to turn back on was to take out the audio and run my audio through my laptop normally, and just incase I have plugged the cooler into a seperate USB extender from my phone charger and works fine. I bought this so It wouldnt burn my legs using the 980m at a friends house and it seems OK for just that, Downside is vents on my laptop dont really go under the fans as it is a 17" laptop but stated it could fit a 19" on it... Alot smaller than described in the description, wouldn't pay £30 for it though, the only good thing about it really is it stays cold under it while on a bed, and able to use it on your laptop, still not using it as my main cooling system though. feel a little ripped off
