just installed a few days ago. seems to get pretty hot when on charge. not sure if its ok. will monitor it closely. I have been getting about 2-3 hours off a full charge using netflix but just worried about the heat.update 03Aug 2020...........19 charges so far and the max charge (100%) has reduced to 8477mAh down from 8700mAh. will update again in due course.update 8th Aug 2020. full charge capacity has dropped again to 8221mAh. Down 6% capacity from new.update Oct 15th 2020. full charge capacity down to 7024mAh down 20% from new.Im really not pleased. obviously as the battery loses capacity, i have to charge more often.update Nov 26th 2020. Battery only charges to 6500 mAh now. poor. cant see it lasting another 12 months...have to continuously charge it as it only lasts 90 minutes on battery.

My MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) kept shutting down at around 60% battery power. Hopefully, with this new battery, it will last a lot longer and accurately tell me when it's about to die. I'll update this in a few weeks with any new info.The most important thing to know before you buy this is that you only get two screwdrivers and a battery. That's it. Sounds good because you can take the back of the laptop off and undo the battery retaining screws...Unfortunately, you still need to get the old battery out, and each of the six cells is held on by four very strong adhesive tabs; nothing more is supplied to help you do this. You can't just rip these off or prise them out with a flat-head screwdriver for example, especially as two of them are glued directly onto the rear of the touchpad.So you'll need some solvent to drip in-between the battery cells and the case. I used isopropyl alcohol and a rewards card as suggested by Sam Greenfield in his review. This isn't trivial but can be done with patience, swearing and a bit of force. Keep an eye on the flat cable coming out of the touchpad as you can damage this if you're not careful.In general, it's worth draining the battery first and being careful as lithium batteries can be dangerous if mishandled.After it's out, and with the remaining glue cleaned off with very carefully applied WD40, the installation is easy, taking only a couple of minutes.Not much else to say about this until it's been used for a while but so far so good.

MacBook Pro laptops made by Apple from 2012 through 2015 have very similar batteries BUT the connector on the earlier ones is offet to the right by about 1 inch whereas the later ones have the connector centered. You CANNOT manipulate the offset connector to fit onto the centered socket. (I tried!)I ordered what I thought was the correct battery for my MacBook Pro but it had the offset connector which did not work on my computer which has a centered connector.You have been warned!Note that I cannot fault the supplier for this -- I should have been more careful. The supplier delivered the battery quickly; it was well-packaged; and they issued a refund promptly when I returned it.

Once the old battery was removed installation was easy and my MacBook was back to its old self. However the original capacity of this battery was good at 8400mAh but this has reduced dramatically to 5067mAh after just one year and only 175 battery cycles. I have used only the original Apple battery charger and did not change the way I charged the battery or used the computer. The original battery lasted for 900 cycles and five years. However, this replacement battery is significantly less durable than the Apple original battery and the life is considerably shorter. The minimum expected life to 50% capacity is 500-800 cycles, disappointed.

The media could not be loaded.  This is a great battery, I had my battery in my MacBook Pro for about 7 years and it couldn’t last more than an hour away from a charger now with this battery I can actually use my MacBook Pro as a portable device again. This install was simple and straight forward, just take the old battery out and put the new battery in. With fast delivery I didn’t have to wait long to get the battery either. The only problem I have was the screw drivers included didn’t fit in my MacBook Pro but I have the older A1398 and I assume the screwdrivers were for the newer A1417, luckily I already had some screwdrivers handy. Honestly, this battery is definitely worth it.

Is quite difficult to install but I followed some videos on you tube and used a cord to remove the old batteries that are glued in.Was a bit annoying that they didn’t include the right area drivers in my box. Which may have been just a mistake so I called Amazon to get a credit to buy another screwdriver.But so far the battery seems to be working well after 2 weeks. It gives about 4.5 hours charge for my MacBook, so all round I am pleased as it saved me spending £300 with an Apple certified repair company

I ordered this battery for my by now third battery replacement. The last two batteries were also from Amazon – but according to coconutBattery all of them had been produced already two years ago. Not this time! The battery by EGOWAY was produced only two months ago.Replacement procedure has been the same as last times… Not really easy, but as easy as it can be with a MacBook Pro.Currently, my MacBook suddenly switches of at 6 % instead of 0 % already. I guess this is a calibration issue which probably can be fixed by a NVRAM reset or just waiting.

Bought to replace battery in MacBook Pro without paying out costly IT repair charges. A quick google showed me how to change the battery and as both tools required came with this battery, the old one was out and the new one was in realtively easy. The only difficult part was removing the old battery due to the adhesive used. However, once out, this one was stuck in and working in minutes.The battery has since been fully charged and used several times over with no noticeable issues.
