Algonquin Provincial Park (Ontario) 1:50k/1:250k Map – Folded Map, July 21, 2009

I recommend you save frustration and a few dollars and purchase the map made from the Friends of Algonquin Park. http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/ In my opinion, this map by International Travel Maps lacks the clarity needed to be used for navigating the park. That is a big deal if that is why one ordered it in the first place. It also lacks any additional information that is plentiful on the alternative mentioned before. Side-by-side, there is no comparison.Finally, at five (5) dollars more than the "friends" map which costs $4.95 plus shipping, the only advantage I can find over the "friends" map is that it is waterproof and tear resistant. The other is paper.

The detail in this map is horrible. I had this map and my group had the Algonquin Provincial Park BRMB backroadmapbooks dot com book. The one with a picture of a moose on the cover. Much much better detail in that one. I purchase that one for around $15 Canadian dollars when I was at the park. This one I will just throw away.

I ordered this to plan a trip.Been down the Petawawa River in Algonquin decades ago.Demanding trip.Retired, not sure if I can go again, but I daydream.Looks water resistant. Printed map: half on each sideIf I wind up not using it, I will see it gets a new good home.

Useless for navigating the park. The scale is simply innadequate. Instead I recommend getting a 'jeff'smap' 'Algonquin for canoeists' which is excellent!. Don't payout twice like I did.

I am sorry I ignored the other reviews and wasted $15 on this map. It is extremely low contrast, you can stare at the map for 10 minutes and nothing stands out. The labels are very poor, so you don't know what focal points to look at. I personally think the labels on lakes, trails etc should be way more bold/dark font. If you're going hiking, like I was, I recommend buying the trail map off the alonquin park website for $5 including shipping. It will tell you what you need.

I ignored the reviews. This map is not useful at all. DO NOT BUY. Go buy Jeffs map or really anything else this thing is not worth it.
