The Green Stone

Psychic questing classic!
I have to admit this story is so amazing that it's hard to believe. But I personally flew to Britain and visited the places involved in the book and visited the swords in the museums they are in. Sure enough they were there with placards telling the story about how they were found. Amazing!

Could not put it down.
This story was fascinating! Read like a thriller-mystery but it's true. These people were part of a journey most of us can only dream about. It's well written to boot. If you like the paranormal this is a must-read.

Green Stone Book
This is a story I read back when it was first published. I enjoyed the story, which I have never forgotten.I recall how the plotline really draws you in and I found the stroy remained in my mind years after my first readiing.I decided to buy this book again as had long since lost my original copy, and the one I received happened to be a first edition print too.The supernatural back-drop and the likeable characters, carry you into there world seamlessly and I would highly recommend this book, despite the fact it is now quite hard to come by, but with the wonders of the internet, I can enjoy this wonderfull story all over again!

An absolutely Amazing book!
I recently heard about this book in a most unusual way. I quickly purchased it and found it to be amazing, not only because of the bizarre paranormal happenings, but because so many clearly real people partook in the proceedings, plus synchronicities started for me in regards to it the very first day I started reading it. Incredibly, most people in the States (even those that are very well versed in the paranormal) are completely oblivious to this book, which is a real shame as this is one of the most important paranormal books ever written. If you like this I highly recommend the sequel, Eye of Fire, as well as Andrew Collins' take on it- The Seventh Sword, which tells of many things left out of the Green Stone. All among the most compelling books ever written.

Brilliant anniversary edition
Glad I waited and got this. I lost my original version (or may be still at my parents house and had been read so often it was very well worn) and always wanted to re read it again as was really interested in the story and related history... This anniversary edition has extra photo's not included in previous editions which brings more of the history to the fore. Excellent. Not giving any spoilers ...however if you want a book to make you look at history a little different ..read this.

Still haunting
I first picked up this book over twenty years ago, and regarded it as the most scary thing I had ever read. I at the time, I was living in the South West of England, and visited several of the locations mentioned. They all had a definite strange aura about them. The book is just as thrilling, and frightening , on a second reading. For me, it raises questions about just what kind of powers are out there in the ether. I think I will leave the lights on tonight ...

Psyche historical detective story
I read this book around 30 years ago. Now I have my own copy of the new 40th anniversary second edition. The new introduction by the author in this edition adds greater clarity to the story told therein. This introduction helped me understand much better what I was reading and the train of events. That said, "The Green Stone" a great tale and an engrossing read. It is a page turner and a 'read it in one night kind of book. People fascinated by true stories of the supernatural will love it.

History or Histrionics? Your choice.
Excellent book. It was a gripping read from start to finish. Once begun, you find it hard to put down. If you are at all interested in local Staffordshire/Worcestershire history and Tudor times or even the Pakington family of Harvington Hall, you will find this book fascinating. Luckily, I'm interested in all three, but even so, it was a cracking read. There are a few chapters that the feint of heart or those who pooh pooh such otherworldly things may find troublesome, but if you can get past your reticence on either score for that small part of the book, you will find the rest a very enjoyable read.

I read this book in its original incarnation and was thrilled to see it republished. Its an amazing account that is well written and makes all things, however unlikely, possible.Highly recommended.
