Long review, tl;dr at the bottom. I'm an original TRTL owner who has used this item on many transpacific flights. I purchased the new TRTL Pillow Plus and I already feel and see the new improvements are great upgrades! First big improvement, height adjustment for different length necks. I purchased this updated model because I had the same issues as others users with the original design, my neck would be sore after extended periods of rest. I'm 5' 10" and maybe it's because I've got a big head that I need more support! I have noticed greatly improved support with the adjustable height feature. Much more comfortable rest because the support gets right under my chin! The toggle mechanism to adjust the height is very easy to use, a clever design! Second improvement, addition of soft foam padding where the head and chin rest against the support. Feels like I'm using an normal neck pillow. The padding is a great little upgrade. Third improvement, the neck wrap is a little longer and wider than the original. The breathable mesh sewn into the neck wrap is slightly stretchable and does feel a little cooler to wear. A little bonus, the water resistant bag included with the pillow is of better quality than I expected. The bag is made of a heavier nylon and does not feel like a thin cheap shoe bag. It also has a sewn in loop and a removable carabiner so you can hook it onto a loop on your bag. The bag was an unexpected and nice accessory! tl;dr Adjustable neck height is a big improvement! Foam padding is a nice addition. Longer and wider neck wrap is great. The carry bag for the pillow is of a higher quality than expected. Overall, very happy with the improved TRTL Plus!

The most amazing travel pillow! I don’t know how this doesn’t have a 5 star rating. I recently upgraded from the standard turtl pillow (also amazing) to this one and I’ve never slept better on a flight. It’s slim and is easy to travel with!

I bought this pillow based on great reviews and hoped it would help make my 13 hour flight a little more bearable. Ultimately it did not deliver in the way it was intended (comfortable side sleeping without falling over), but it is versatile and supportive enough that I did get use out of it a couple times. I couldn't get it to stay on my shoulder on the side, it choked me from the front or mashed my chin up uncomfortably, and my seat never leaned back far enough to really enjoy using it as a neck rest. But I did use it a couple times to hold the arch in my back and across my arms on top of the tray table. It's a well-made product - very soft, and I like the travel case HOWEVER the velcro on the travel bag is so freaking aggressive. It takes three of four tugs to open the bag. I'm not sure what they were going for there other than making everyone around you look at you to see if you need help or are being super annoying for a reason by making that loud velcro tearing sound so many times.

Completely HONEST review. I am a 5’4 female heavier set and my husband is 6’2 heavier set. This did NOT work for either of us and we tried this on the airplane for 8 hours trying to figure out a way to get comfortable. Completely unachievable and caused extreme neck pain afterwards for the both of us!! Cons: - Worse than traditional neck pillow if you have headphones on. In order to be comfortable with this Turtle neck pillow, you cannot have headphones on, you will find yourself constantly adjusting to TRY to get comfortable, which more than likely will NOT happen - Not made for short fat necks even when adjusted into the lowest setting (I am 5’4 and my husband is 6’2 this did NOT work for either of our fat necks!!) - This is essentially a Velcro version of a neck brace that is really expensive - I do NOT recommend this at all, unless you plan to use this without headphones on and your neck is built specifically for this type of “neck pillow”, although it is more of a “neck brace” that will actually give you intense neck pain after usage, try it and you will quickly regret it. - Price $$$— Super expensive for something non functional I wish I had known these before purchasing!! Because trying it out in the house is drastically different than trying it on an actual airplane, trust me on that. Pros: - I guess you can say it is “more cooling” than traditional neck pillows because it’s just fabric rather than a cushion bracing your entire neck (this braces only ONE side of the neck) - Because it is essentially a neck brace wrapped with fabric, your head will be braced but let me tell you, you’ll have extreme neck pain after usage because your head “rests” on ONE side, and it is completely uncomfortable Last but not least, you more than likely need to have an average sized MALE neck or LONG NECK. If you are heavier set or have a short neck do not purchase this and waste your money!! Most importantly, do NOT cause yourself unnecessary neck pain and wallet pain!!

This is an updated travel pillow from the regular TRL which I have not used before. This pillow the TRTL Plus has levers which can adjust to your neck which I thought was a great idea. I feel I have an average neck but was not able to find a comfortable position. The material is semi comfortable but not really soft as was described in their ads. I did not get a restful sleep but it was better than no pillow if that means anything. I think all the adjustments were set too high and I never felt comfortable while using this pillow. Again great concept but it does need more work and it is expensive.

About me: I have several bulging discs in my neck along with mild spinal cord compression among many other neck issues. I need surgery, but refuse to get it until my arm stops working! I bought this for a flight from USA to Australia. I hated and returned the original trtl pillow, but love how the trtl plus is adjustable! It's soft, comfortable, supportive, and about as good as it gets. I could wear my airpods without any issue. I could pull my hoodie over my head (including the pillow) while still being comfortable because the pillow isn't bulky. Before finding this pillow, I was considering buying a C Collar for my flight because nothing else I found was supportive! I took a muscle relaxer and was able to sleep for several hours during my flight half way across the world. I woke up with no neck pain, and my arms weren't numb. Amazing! Worth every penny!

On average, I fly about 100k miles per year. Of those 100k miles, I have slept exactly 0 minutes of those flights. Not for lack of being utterly exhausted, but because I am a stomach sleeper and unable to find a comfortable position while being squished into a tiny seat in a flying tin can. I thought I had tried every reputable travel pillow on the market, but they are all currently sitting in my box waiting to go to Goodwill. However, I had a flight coming up that took off at 1am with a round of work commitments immediately upon landing, so I was desperate to find something to help me sleep besides whiskey and/or Ambien. Cue me doing extensive research on the best travel pillows. This is when I stumbled upon the trtl pillow. I had always been averse to the neck brace-style pillow because WOW are they dorky. However, it had stellar reviews and I was desperate and thought it was worth a shot. 2 days later, I was boarding my red eye flight with my stupid-looking pillow in hand. Not going to lie, I waited until they dimmed the cabin lights to wrap it around my head for fear of looking real dumb in front of my fellow passengers. I closed my eyes, praying I would actually be able to fall asleep. Next thing I knew, we were on the ground and a flight attendant was poking me like I was dead and there was about 5 hours worth of dried drool across my face. I had managed to sleep the ENTIRE. 5. Hour. Flight. I slept through landing and take off. I apparently slept through people crawling over me to use the rest room. I slept through other passengers poking me to wake me up. I’m pretty sure I actually went into a coma with the trtl pillow wrapped around me. This is the most magical, weirdest, ugliest, most comfortable contraption I have ever purchased, and I owe trtl a giant thank you note for finally granting me sleep on a plane. They certainly have a customer for life.

I really really wanted to like this but I found it to be very uncomfortable. Even in the smallest setting, it felt entirely too big for it to rest between my head and shoulder comfortably (I have a very normal neck). I’ll give it two stars for the portability and softness but I landed on my 2 hour plane ride with a stiff neck trying to make it work. Additionally I wasn’t able to wear this and AirPods simultaneously which I do for noise cancellation while trying to sleep :(

Comfortable, practical, not to bulky

I had the previous model that was perfect. This new model is a nightmare: Even in the shortest position it is still too tall for my head, it’s either crushing my ears or my jaw. The new outside fabric is quite sturdy and not nice to feel and when you tie the pillow it’s cutting your blood circulation. Obviously discovered all this when already in the plane.

Unlike some other reviews I saw, when I used the trtl Pillow Plus I felt my head and neck very well supported by it, and my head is not a small one! It felt confortable, cosy, and sturdy enough! Totally reccomend it!!!
