Use it on the front of my wood furnace to measure duct temperatures. Works well. Just make sure the surface is flat or the dial will stick.

Got this for my full size George Foreman grill. I was hoping to put it on the lid and get a temperature. . . but it never got to above 200. I placed the thermometer on the actual grill and it seemed to work a lot better and give a pretty accurate reading. I was hoping to get able to get a valid reading without having to open the grill to see the thermometer, but oh well. I would say it works as described. For the price I think it is a good buy.

Useless sums it up. It comes ftom the factory off by 100 degress. There are no instructions to calibrate it. Using my knowledge of calibrating others it still doesn't work. Placed it on top hottest surface for 15 minuts and it reads 100F. Clearly the grill is in the 200 to 300s.

Very good for extended indirect grilling.

I had a lot of discoloration issues with this thermometer. It doesn't actually catch on fire but becomes charred very easily and becomes unreadable. It was never used in a smoker just on my grill surface but still only lasted for 5 or 6 uses before I had to toss it. I think the same problem is just inherent to most on-surface thermometers like this. I bought a nice $11 external thermometer, drilled a hole, installed it and it's worked great. Might work ok if you only use it for low temp cooking but not for grilling..

This is a real jewel. I keep it on the grilling rack, and it works perfectly. Price is right!

Always a shot in the dark when grilling. I hope this will tell me what temp is for my ribs and roasts. Can't wait to give it a try. I'm not sure I shouldn't have gotten a magnet one but I'll figure that out if it falls in the fire. Till then my grilling should improve
