Why I use KE4 BHB Ester.
#1 it works. #2 The CEO, Frank LLosa is accessible to customers via phone or Facebook (KetoneAid), and he is a no BS (honest and knowledgeable) professional. I have called him several times with questions. So yeah, customer service is second to none. #3 I have consumed 6 KE4 bottles to date (with many more to go) in support of both standard of care, and non-standard of care medical protocols (for mRNA signalling benefits and normal cell protective) reasons (NOT diet weight-loss and NOT physical athletic performance). KE4 has always delivered measurable results as advertised and expected (I measure Ketones/Glucose with a KetoMojo meter). I am normally Ketogenic, and KE4 is there for me when my Ketone levels fall off due to various reasons. My limited research and understanding on KE4: KE4 Converts directly into usable chemical energy also supporting various cell signalling (as per a growing volumes of animal and Human N=1 research -- which shows Ketones protect cells, supports OxPhos energy metabolism, and enables medical protocols designed to suppress normal cell glycolytic pathway functions leading to pyruvate/lactate production). KE4 (BHB) also supports improved cognition as-well-as motor function (why most people take it). Taste: It tastes like a chemical fuel. I personally don't have an issue with the taste, but I can understand why babies, girls, and girly men would. Its really not that bad -- but I'm not using it casually as a diet aid either. If you consume KE4 subliminally (hold it in your mouth and under the tongue for an extended time, before swallowing) it should get absorbed faster into the blood for immediate use. Price: While it appears the price is high, it is very reasonable for what it actually is (non-racemic ester) and for what it does (converts directly into AcetylCOA). First, its 100% bio-available -- 100% -- (not 50% or less-- like many/most BHB-Salt based products). Second, BHB ester has been the chemical gold standard for some time -- used in research labs only -- it was unavailable commercially -- and it was price prohibitive: priced in the thousands of dollars just over a year or so ago. KE4 is the real deal, now available commercially for NOT thousands of dollars. Most folks just don't get this. How does KE4 provide 100% bio-available instant ketones? My understanding (and I am not a chemist): I believe this to be an enantiomerically pure ketone ester (non-racemic). (just google it) Racemic BHB products have a left and right side molecule -- thus providing 50% or less available BHB for direct utilization. In other words, KE4 BHB Ester is fully bio-available, so you are receiving full value for the price. You can meter the amount you need for whatever your purpose is. KetoneAid even gives you a little measuring tube with the three container pack. With other racemic BHB-Salt products (right and left hand molecules) only one half (or less) of the ketones are bioavailable. How does KE4 BHB Esters work? This is very important for my personal medical (non-diet/non-athletic performance) application: I believe KE4 is a organic BHB (beta-hydroxy-buterate) ester and it is NOT related to a salt. In the body the liver (primarily) creates ketone bodies as needed (fasted state): Acetoacetic Acid, BHB, and acetone. The energy in our body at the cellular level is ATP. ATP (adenosine triphosphate) powers all mechanical and nerve functions in the body. ATP production (creation) by key organelles (called Mitochondria), found in most cells requires a fundamental chemical building block (Acetyl-CoA) to be available in order for the oxygen phosphorylation chemical process to occur, thus efficiently generating ATP. The free availability of AcetylCOA is also an important signalling state, which is key for my condition, but I will not explain that mechanism in detail here. BHB freely converts to AcetylCOA with Acetoacetate, supporting the mitochondrial production of ATP via the citric acid cycle (Krebs Cycle). KE4 is an ester, so its presents within the body converts directly to usable energy in various tissues. Because BHB esters also pass the blood-brain barrier they will be utilized for energy by the brain (the largest consumer of energy in the body). The down sides of KE4: Because KE4 is not a salt (calcium, potassium, magnesium) it doesn't supplement these electrolytes if your in a fasted state. Having said that, of the 60ml in each small container, 30ml is BHB and 30ml contains beneficial supplementation like Taurine (calcium modulator and anti-oxidant) for cardio support, etc.

I love it more than I thought I would
Honestly I started taking this stuff after researching TBIs and recovery. I had brain fog post concussions and a few physical injuries to recover from. PT wasn’t doing it for me so I took matters into my own hands. I’m a few years into the story, so this is a couple of years worth of review. It depends on when I take KE4 whether I feel the effects immediately or realize afterwards how much it helped. If I take it first thing in the morning, I can feel my brain kick in and I’m ready to be “On It!” for work much like what coffee promised me but doesn’t seem to deliver as consistently. If I take it before my workout in the evening I don’t feel the gears kicking in like in the morning, but I can push through more of my workout or lift more weight (go one set up in dumbbells or finish a set I didn’t think I had in me). That’s where the gains are, just getting that little bit more in. This isn’t anything like steroids or even a stimulant pre-workout. It’s subtle, but with consistent use, especially combined with electrolytes and creatine, you do get some pretty incredible results - both physical and neurological. Other things I’ve noticed are when I take KE4 with electrolytes (my LMNT powder) I can either ease or get rid of migraines, and a capful seems to help me get better quality sleep. I don’t understand how something can help me sleep, ease a headache, but also help with turning my brain on and getting results in the gym. I’m happy to continue getting these kinds of results. Since the TBIs and the physical injuries, I got into the keto diet as well. This stuff helps to amplify the effects of the diet when my body gets a little too adapted and efficient with the diet alone. The only thing I dislike about it is the taste. I’ve never been a fan of cherry but I will gladly down a cherry flavored capful or two for those kinds of results.

LIFE CHANGING!
I’m a repeat customer and I just ordered the 12 pack of the KE4, for great reason. Instead of spending your daily $7 allotment on a cup of coffee from your local coffee shop, use something exponentially more effective. The clarity of mind alone would be enough to order this (especially for gaming/work productivity)... but I use it to speed recovery time from lifting weights, improve quality of sleep and lower inflammation issues. Your expensive latte doesn’t offer all of these benefits. It can benefit keto/modified Atkins dieters (I have switched 2.5 years ago to a fat adapted diet and find MASSIVE benefit from this supplementation) as well as improve performance with non-fat adapted cognitive and physical performance. Just listen to the dosing method videos CEO Frank Llosa puts out on YouTube/FB/on his website. Ketone esters don’t taste great but it’s non issue if you dilute it in a big glass of water or chill it. Also, serving sizes tend to vary depending on the individual. I use KetoneAid when I game (Fortnite/COD) and i feel that I can focus better and stay more calm under pressure, helping my reaction time and aim (like a good fight for a Solo Battle Royale W) or see my k/d go up in COD. I’m having a lot more fun playing when I win more ha! It (+cardio) is becoming a staple in my gaming world, creating a powerful and quantifiable synergy, promoting a flow state for me. Since I’ve been taking this, I have been able to lift consistently, 5 days in a row. This was never an actuality before. I’m recovering like Wolverine and hop out of bed ready to lift. And in hoping out of bed, I’m feeling more rested as well, given a history of sleep issues. Oh yeah, I don’t need to take anything in addition for inflammation which I feel is all tied into better sleep and healing at night. This + a keto diet have been godsend for me. I wanted to see how it affected my mom, so I gave her some of this (she’s in her 60’s) and it’s improved her anxiety, general mood and word recall/conversation fluidity. Makes sense given that glucose nutrient receptors calcify In the brain as we age BUT our ability to utilize fat as a fuel source remains unhindered. Also, Frank ensures wonderful customer service so that shouldn’t ever be an issue. So if you think you’d like to try it for gaming, exercise performance, work productivity, quality sleep, inflammation... don’t hesitate! It may just be your “on switch” or improve your quality of life as it did mine. I think everyone on the planet should see what it’s like to use ketones as a primary fuel source/be fat adapted and KetoneAid is easily the best way.

Did not raise my ketone levels, it lowered them
Do not even bother with this. It doesn’t live up to its own or independent hype. I followed the one capful directions for six days, took it on an empty stomach. I fasted for two to three hours after taking it. I did not test for ketones first thing in the morning because of the Dawn Phenomenon. I tested two hours after taking it, and in the afternoon and evening. I was already in light ketosis (1.08 to 1.2) several days before I started Ke4, and have been largely for 10 years prior, because I spent 3 years on the keto diet, and 7+ years Carnivore. Started my 8th year Jan 1st. I wanted to see Ke4’s impact. Ke4 did little or nothing to increase my ketone levels. In fact, a couple of readings went below 1.x to .55 or .63. It did not create any sense of increased energy or mental clarity. The taste is absolutely awful. I chugged it down in a little water. At least it’s not sweetened or flavored. Too bad they don’t care, won’t read this, and I can’t get my money back. I had much better results with keto salts shots. At least they maintained my ketone count, and didn’t lower it. After simply stopping this product, my ketone levels went up to 2+. This product is a sham.

The jury is still out
The jury is still out on KE4 for me. I've been reading that a large number of procyclist and marathon runners are now using these, so that's worth following to see what they find over time. I bought this to use when I was on the keto diet. I used ketone esters when biking, running, and doing demanding manual labor tasks around the house as after starting this diet my body was incapable of keeping up with ketone production necessary to keep me going at a level I was accustomed to on a standard diet. It was very frustrating how fast I would tire. I started with the KetoneAid Shots (2oz ready-to-drink bottle), which worked incredibly well. I was definitely working out in a fuel-deficient mode because within about 5-10 minutes of drinking a 1/2 shot I felt like a turbo had kicked in! The burning in my legs when I pushed up a hill biking or running was gone and I could sustain such an effort much longer. Anyway, those bottles are $8 a piece for 2 shots ($4/shot), so I thought I could get a better deal using the KE4, which I figured I could get down to ~$2.50 a shot if I bought from the manufacturer in bulk. Unfortunately, even mixing my own "shots" with the KE4 using comparable ketone ester amounts, I didn't feel the turbo as much (I switched back and forth between KE4 and the shots a couple times to be sure). KE4 definitely helped, but I seemed to somehow get more from the pre-mixed shots. Note this was purely my subjective perception of the impact it had on my performance. I wasn't doing time-trials or anything to get any form of data (though that would be really interesting to do!). Probably not surprisingly, the longer I did keto, the better my body became at making my own ketones and keeping up with the demand during activity. So again while these definitely helped, the turbo-boost effect became less noticeable over time. I continued using them when I finished up with keto (though still eating lower carbs). I've been testing my blood ketones and am definitely out of ketosis (per published metrics, ketones < 0.5mmol/L) and I'm not sure how much difference adding ketone esters makes. I think it still helps a little, but I'm not racing or anything so the cost/benefit ratio is getting too high for me and I've stopped using it. For someone starting the keto diet, especially if you are very low carb and going after a therapeutic level of ketosis who wants to boost their energy for workouts (or just working), I highly recommend these. I was very happy with the results of doing keto and plan (at least for now) to do the diet at least once per year. So I plan to have these on hand next time to help me maintain my activity level through the early days (at least) of the diet. If you are racing/competing I suspect these can be useful (read up on the pros using it), so if you need that edge the cost/benefit ratio may be worth it to you. You probably should research how the body utilizes these, if you get the desired benefit on day-one or if you need to "train" your body over time to better utilize ketones. It's something that's on my to-do list, just haven't gotten to it yet.

Most Ketones Are Noise. KE4 Is Signal
I’ve tested a lot of ketone products with athletes, executives, and high-performing clients. My work depends on it. KetoneAid KE4 is the one that consistently stays in my core protocols. It’s a true ketone monoester that delivers pure D-BHB the same ketone your body naturally makes. It raises blood ketones quickly and reliably without the heavy mineral load found in most ketone salts. Many salts contain mixed forms of BHB and require large amounts of sodium or potassium just to get a modest effect. KE4 delivers a higher amount of the usable form in a smaller volume. In practice, that means clearer thinking, steadier energy, lower appetite, and reduced perceived effort during training. For athletes, I use it before key sessions or in fasted states to maintain output without a crash. For executives, it supports calm focus and sustained cognitive performance without stimulation. When you look at cost per effective serving not just price per bottle KE4 is actually more efficient because it delivers more active ketone per dose. It’s clean, predictable, and powerful. That’s why it’s a staple in my protocols.

Pricey, but SUPER clean energy! And appetite decreaser.
Wow, I LOVE this stuff! Granted it tastes like death but it is a bringer of life. It provides a great boost of clean energy, especially mentally, bordering on a runner's high and without the unclean, jitter effect that can come when caffeine crosses that line from energy booster to energy erraticness. It's definitely pricey, and you've got to be careful to not take too much, too soon cause it could upset your stomach as it's not something it's experienced before, and 1-2 capfuls will raise ketone levels plenty, so the more isn't necessarily the merrier. Overall, despite its hefty price tag, I say you can't beat it when it comes to the type of energy it provides, and the appetite suppressing effect to limit hunger cravings. I HIGHLY recommend! 👍
