Nothing like a battery powered radio w antenna. Portable and great sound.

I've had this radio for well over 6 months now, I think getting close to a year.The first one I have received was obviously mishandled, in shipping and arrived physically broken. The box was broken, and the radio case itself severely cracked. I was offered a replacement, and I've been using that replacement ever since, daily, connected at the main outlet. It is dependable and has very decent sound. Good purchase.

My companion and I grew up listening to AM/FM transistor radios. We each had a similar one that we had used in college, long before we met. We continued to use them, until, almost simultaneously, they both faded away from the airwaves and we put them away for old sake's sake. We wanted to replace them, and I found these HDi Portable Radios, which looked simple to use and resembled our old transistors. Add batteries, or just plug in and play, or both. The sound is clear, the tuning is fairly accurate, if not always perfect (but what radio is?), and they draw in quite a number of stations. We like the old-time aspects of the radios, such as knobs to adjust the tuners and dials for volume. The only thing I would add to state that the HDi is the perfect radio is if it had a light in the dial, so if there is a blackout, one could see it. Aside from that, we are very satisfied with our radios, and bought a third as a backup.

The only thing I dislike about is item is it doesn't have rechargeable batteries, plug in only or buy your own batteries. Other than that, the quality and sound quality is acceptable when comparing to other radios in its category.

The media could not be loaded. Finally! After all the stuff I've had to send back, the portable/table radio I've been looking for! Surprisingly heavy (I thought batteries were in it) and well-built for modern plastics, by today's standards this is built like a tank. Stands up well no problem, sturdy. Again for today's standards. Handle good. Sturdy a/c plug. Plugged it right in and sounds loud and surprisingly full if you're not a basshead, not a Tivoli, but really good compared to everything else (larger radios that were positively screechy).And tuning to my classical station that some radios can't get easy, no interference without pulling out the antenna, which is also think and well made. This is the familiar experience you remember despite modern plastics. Wish the dialface was stark white? So happy I bought this, mostly by accident following video link to another product, never heard of this brand, but I'm an instant fan! Replacing a wooden table radio I purchased that starting popping off and I was afraid it was a fire hazard so I returned that. Good thing for Amazon's extended Holiday return policy! So happy I bought this!Also I personally like the volume/off wheels. I bought Allmax 'D' cells just for this!

I like that the sound comes out great. It can be used with batteries and it comes with a plug so you don’t have to keep buying batteries. Nice item

Needed a new small radio for my desk at work & this is the perfect size & the reception is amazing

This radio was exactly what I was wanting. The audio quality seems really good and it's small enough to fit on my bathroom counter while still seeming tucked away. I like the flexibility of using batteries or plugging in as well.I would highly recommend!
