Much easier to cut my thick toenails with! Has extra leverage and I can hold the ends much easier. The file that comes with it is decent, but I'm a guy that doesn't file much... I'll probably lose it! UPDATE: Have been using this a month now, and it has all pros, and no cons. Let's go back over it! The cutting edge is a little bit wider than a standard toenail clipper. This is actually pretty nice, especially on larger nails for an even cut! When you open them up, they open MUCH wider than a standard clipper. You can get in their and clean the nasty gunk from your nails off easily! If you have tough nails (at least for me) some normal clippers struggle. The handle will bend before they cut all the way. With these, the handle is a very good steel. Even pinching it tightly shut, as strong ss my drunk-driving hands are... I can't bend the handle. At all. Very high quality steel, very happy. Closed, they are a bit taller than a normal clipper, but not much, and the magnet holds them closed. When closed, the mouth of the blade is all the way closed, too, which means they won't get damaged or cut something else in your bag! The flippy thing that attaches to the magnet flips up to the front to act as a spring when in use, but isnt TOO strong. Just right for springing them open without providing noticeable resistance to closing them. With the lever action they use, much much easier to cut with. And despite the blades being much wider open when in use, the handle is actually closer together than a standard clipper, making it easy to grasp and squeeze, even if you have a hard time with manual dexterity. The handles are great to hold in fingertips, or in a fist - I use a weird motion getting to my toes, and yet I have full control with these and never fear dropping them, unlike normal clippers. So impressed with these toenail clippers that I found a set with fingernail clippers as well, and purchased those! When I get them, these will go in my tool kit, as they go through wires and metal leads from circuitry and such just fine... like butter. Good for small places that my diags can't fit!

These are really nice and sturdy, great for cutting my thick weird toenails, trimmed the cats nails too. Opens wide for thick or weird shaped nails, and nice easy action without having to squeeze hard at all. Nice, heavyweight material feels like it will last a long time. Very pleased

I can't believe that I am excited over something as basic as toe nail clippers. For years upon years I have been having to rely on my wife to clip my toe nails for me. Why? Because regular toe nail clippers were to small for me to be able to hold onto. They would always slip out of my fingers or I would drop them. Very frustrating! I would also feel bad for my wife because she would literally strain and use a lot of force to have them cut through my very thick toe nails. I can't count the number of clippers she has gone through because of bending or breakage. End result, I did not get my toe nails done very often. Trust me, my kids (now grown and gone) gave me the nick name of Raptor claws. LOL! Funny but embarrassing. To close to try to deny. But today I got these clippers and with my wife at the store I gave them a try. My toe nails are done! I did them all by myself! In fact, I even took an extra step and used the included nail filer to smooth the rough edges. Needless to say I am impressed with the clippers and lol proud of myself that I was able to use them. :) They were very easy to handle because they are bigger than regular toenail clippers. I did not drop them once and they also did not slip all over the place. (people with problems will understand that) But caution! Like other reviewers have pointed out, they are SHARP and cut easily and quickly. I did not cut myself or take to much off, BUT, I can see how that could easily be done. So just be careful. I also do like the little tin they come in. The only possible drawback is very very minor. The "spring" that holds them open while in use. Yes, it does it's job just fine. But there really is no umm... feedback? Hard to explain but I think it could use a tad more spring. BUT! Over all two thumbs up and five stars!

This is light, has good leverage and is easily held and maneuvered. It cuts cleanly and easily, If I had to recommend a change in manufacturing, I would suggest cross hatching at the fingertips. This is the sole reason for 4 instead of five stars - it is otherwise quite excellent. It is so sharp, that I didn't really have to use a file after clipping. This is probably what I will buy from now on.

i will admit i was skeptical about these Nail Clippers. will they do the job right, will they even work, are they sharp enough? all these questions ran through my mind as i was choosing my options on Amazon of many, many choices i had to choose from when i came across these. in the pictures these Nail Clippers looked perfect and i liked what i saw, so i decided to take a chance and i am here to ease all your fears and worries. when i got these Nail Clippers in the mail i was very surprised how fast they came. when i tried them i couldn't believe how easy these Nail Clippers cut my really Big toenails with ease with no issues or problems! the only thing that i would seriously suggest is be very carful when you are cutting either your toenails or fingernails cause these Nail Clippers are REALLY SHARP! which is a very good thing cause you want your Nail Clippers to be sharp but since these open extra wide it is best to take your time and do not rush when cutting. i seriously highly recommend these Nail Clippers the very best ones I've ever had and will Ever use.

These clippers great, but they're sharp as hell. My husband like to have cut his toes off with them. Be very cautious when using them.

Bought these for their wide opening jaws and wasn't disappointed. With a fat toenail that always hurts and never gets close enough when attempting to cut, this problem was solved! This was a no-pain and tight cutting set of clippers. Met my needs well. The construction looks like it will last a good long time. Felt very strong for a sure-cut, clean clip of all ten nails. The nail file that is included worked very well though it is a bit small, would liked it a bit larger. I was going to give a 4-star rating but realized that these are the best clippers I've used and worthy of a 5-star. Of course all results can differ but my experience was very good, would buy again if needed to. ds

Have to admit, they certainly worked well at initially cutting off those thick fungus--infected toenails. No cuts either, so they get two thumbs up for that as well. Just wanted to mention, now that you"ve cut them off, use alternate more permanent treatments. I have been told, soak toes in Vinegar for 15 min. daily for a month, and the nails will soften, and the fungus will go away. You can also take pills, but I have heard that the vinegar method is much FASTER. At any rate, I am pleased because I can run again, as the toenails were so thick, it was starting to hurt quite a bit.

SIMPLY AMAZING! First thing I tried to do was cut an annoying toenail, second from the big toe, on the left foot, that has plagued me for years. Occasionally I would manage to cut through it, but it has thickened beyond what a normal nail clipper could do or fit, over time. Way too thick for clippers or manicure scissors. So I carefully positioned it, even pulling back a bit to make sure I didn't slice my skin...and CLICK! It snapped it off, easy peasy, easier than clippers on a normal nail! No lie, it was almost half an inch thick and it took it off like it was nothing! This was a particularly hardened nail too...to those who are saying it didn't work...well, I don't know what you toenails are made of, but I was skeptical that this would even work for me, my nail was so thick and hard as a rock...the piece that came off actually looked like a little stone but I won't horrify anyone with a picture lol. I actually only clipped the one nail and stopped at that because I was so excited to write this review. I know I won't have any problems with any other nail because that one was my nemesis...and thanks to this clipper, I have conquered it! Highly recommended! Worth every penny, to me...I had a $14 gift card balance due to another item not received, so it cost me a little over $5.50 to round off the balance. But I would have gladly paid it anyway because it WORKS, as advertised.
