Most cost effective and accurate
I love this little meter. I was given two different meters by the doctor, but with very few test strips, and they were pretty expensive. I bought this one based on the cost of refill strips as well as good reviews. It is SO much easier to use: requires a much smaller blood drop, results in far fewer errors, and if the error is insufficient blood it allows you time to add more without wasting a test strip. Most importantly, I just had new blood work done at the lab, so I tested all 3 home meters both before and after. The Contour NEXT ONE was the most accurate by far. My test before leaving home (about 45 min before the blood draw) was 4 points lower than the lab results, and re-testing at home just 15 minutes after the blood draw, the Contour NEXT ONE was only 3 points higher. Both of the other meters (OneTouch Ultra2 and OneTouch Verio) were off by 20-30 points. And those other two are both so prone to errors, you end up wasting so many of those precious test strips.

Most reliable and accurate glucose monitor I've bought.
Easy to use, fast and most accurate glucose monitor I've owned. I recommend it to all my friends and bought one for my father. I don't need to monitor as frequently because of its reliability.

Meter works great. The lancing device is mediocre.
Got the meter today. Tested the meter with the control solution and it landed right where it should. I tested my blood glucose reading on this and my old GE100 meter, and they both got the same number sampling four times on two different fingers. The GE100 was occasionally giving some wild readings though so I figured it was time for something new.The GE100, at the time it was released, claimed to need a small amount of blood to test. The Contour Next One needs a far smaller amount. Plus it has a extra amount of time and a feature to add more blood. The GE100 you would be racing the clock to squeeze blood from your finger and hope between the time taken and the amount of blood you would not get an error. The app associated with it is pretty neat to if you like electronics record keeping opposed to a paper log. You have the standard risk of giving access to some of you personal medical information to a company, but that's just a fact of life now and a personal decision you will need to make. The test strips run a little pricier than some of the competition. Right now Amazon has them at about 38 cents a strip for a decent deal. I found a clearance site that you can get them for 25 cents per strip with a guarantee they will have at least two months left before expiration. The lancing device is serviceable, but feels cheap compared to one I already own and without any additional features. It also is a screw off top, directly next to the depth adjuster which also turn, so one could easily change the lancing depth by accident.

Nice meter
So five stars for the meter, which is the real reason I bought this kit and one star for the lancet device. It’s pretty cheaply made and you have to shove the lancets in for the device to work. If you can do without the lancet device, the meter, which works wonderfully, can be found even cheaper on Amazon. So the setup for the meter is simple - just follow the icons on the meter’s display for guidance. The whole reason for me getting the meter was the Bluetooth connectivity. You do have to download the Contour tracking app to pair the meter with the phone. You can set the meter into pairing mode by long- pressing the power button until the light at the end of the meter flashes blue, but my iPhone 11 did not see the meter to pair with it through the phone menu. It has to be done through the app. But all measurements are reliably transmitted to the phone once the meter has been properly set up.Buy this as a back-up meter. Contour will provide a free meter if you purchase 100 test strips. There is a coupon on their website.

Neat little meter
This is my first meter as I was just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Even so I cannot imagine a more 'friendly' device. Certainly not for the money. It's about the size of a BIC lighter. I love the 'SmartLight' which displays a color (green, orange or red) to indicate if the reading is within standard (or user definable)) range.Basic set up is easy. I've not delved into the more advanced settings as I find I really don't need it. I just pop a strip in and go with the basic setupI really appreciate the carrying case as it contains loops for the meter, the test strip canister and a lancet device. On the other side is a zippered compartment to store wipes, lancet needles, and other small accessories. If I had a complaint it would be the the Windows app is almost undecipherable. Yes the readings are presented graphically but you have to 'decode' what date they were taken. Also while it reported 137 readings were imported all I can pull up are the dozen or so readings for the last week. Maybe it's me and I just need to play with it more

Accurate and reliable
Have used it for almost a year. The readings are quite consistent. It has the reputation of being the most accurate brand. Though I have started using the continual reading sensor for months (much more convenient but terrible in accuracy), I still check my fasting glucose from time to time with this meter to get the most accurate reading.

Most accurate personal glucose monitor on the market!
Having tried several different meters, I have found the Contour Next to be BY FAR the most consistently accurate model available. Across multiple Contour Next meters (I keep a backup in case my primary unit breaks) they read to an accuracy within 1 point of each other. The Contour Next strips actually require a little less blood than most other models, so that you can get away with more shallow finger sticks. Very highly recommended, this model has been a literal lifesaver!

The Contour Next One is great!
The Countour meter takes just a tiny amount of blood. But it's important to touch the blood to the very end of the strip, not to the top. It gets sucked up into a capillary channel from the end of the strip. Very easy to read. Downloads to a tablet. The O'well lancing device is easy to use, and comes with a few sample needles in various thicknesses. For me, the thinnest needle (which is the highest grade number, 33G) works just fine and gives an almost painless prick.
