ASTRO Gaming Powered Splitter

So my intention with this was to able to record party chat in games. It works as intended with a few annoyances. First thing is it takes 2 AAA batteries and for the most part last a long time but when the batteries are low the sound quality is horrible and being a live streamer this is unacceptable. The other issues I have found that in certain positions a fair amount of static will come through to the other players in your chat so to alleviate this you need to have it in your lap or held down to something.. Since this is the only viable solution at this time you have no other choice to get this. The other problem is astro gaming stopped making these co they can be hard to find.

This item works just the way I needed it to work! It allows me to record my voice and party chat! Super fast shipping came a day earlier despite the tracking info not updating! Very pleased!

Allows me to stream game audio, chat audio, and even audio off my laptop if I desire. Fantastic. Absolute must have for beginner streamers

This product worked WONDERS for me in the first 3 months. Then the problems came. I started hearing horrible feedback coming back through the headset randomly. I used it like this for about 1 month until finally trying to fix the issue myself, so I spliced open the rubber that was holding the inner wiring from the 3.5mm plug all the way down to the battery station. After splitting it open, I realized that the wires inside were sooooo thin that after a couple months of use, the wires just break apart from slight bending. THIS is the issue everybody is having with this product! I temporarily repaired mine with zip-ties and solder, but after a few more uses it just couldn't stay together. This product is a MUST BUY IF it would only stay together for more than a few months. If you are hearing any type of disturbing feedback that only happens randomly, this is most likely your problem! Astro not only increased their price on a product with great potential, but failed to fix the issue and are still selling people products that don't last!!!
