The Great Alien Cake Off: Children's Picture Book About What the Planets Are Really Made From!

I got this for my neighbours 5 year old son who loves aliens and watching the great British bake off. Well written rhyming story with lots to look at in the colourful pictures and lots of fun school gate, cake and planet references to stimulate interesting chat and play in that age group. You could read it as a bedtime story to younger kids, older ones could read it themselves. The rhyming couplets give it a singsong appeal like gruffalo or room on the broom. I thought it was a great book!

Can't wait to read this with my 4 yr old , baking crazy granddaughter and her Alien loving little brother!

I bought this for my daughter who's nearly two and it's been a big hit! The story is great, she loves the rhyming and the illustrations are perfect. After months of reading Julia Donaldson on repeat it's a pleasure to find something different which is so well written and imaginative. Would definitely recommend for both toddlers and older children - I'll be buying a copy for my 5 year old niece come Christmas. Fingers crossed for more from this author!

This is a brilliantly written, very funny book that little ones will love and adults will also enjoy!Its a really engaging story full of rhyme and fun to really capture imaginations. The characters are great and the illustrations compliment it perfectly. Its bright, clever, funny and if you like cakes, bake off, aliens or all of the above you should add this to your children's book collection immediately! Its fab!

Rollicking great fun and cleverly written tale, in a great sized book format. Ideal to read to little ones and engaging enough to encourage their reading too. The rhyming style makes for a lilting delivery (you cant help yourself!) Which carries through to the end and an ideal length for bedtime. Hope this new author writes more like this. Highly recommended!

This is a brilliant children’s book, we couldn’t wait to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next. My 10 month old loves it, as do my 4-12 year old nieces and nephews. It brought many laughs and “ooohs” and “ahhhhs”. The illustrations match the text perfectly. We can’t wait for the next book!

I love this book! It's a great tale that is completely original, clever and is beautifully illustrated. Children of all ages and adults will love this story and it can be enjoyed again and again as each page is packed with layers of creativity and ingenuity.

Somewhat disappointing sadly - a story that doesn’t go anywhere - feel it could have been much better as this is a great idea - didn’t have much thought behind it and illustrations that gave me a headache.
