Heavy Duty Gate Drop Bolt for Wooden Gates (450mm)

Bought two of these for my two 8-foot wide, wooden, driveway gates. Really like the look and sturdiness of them. The only (small) gripe I have is that the heads of the screws do not cope very well with screwing, and wear away too easily, allowing only one proper attempt at screwing. However, more screws, than are required, are supplied. Doesn't detract from 5 stars, though.

The item itself very robust and I doubt that will have any difficulty holding back a much larger gate than the 40KG leaf which I have it doing. The galvanised finish looks to have been done well and the build quality looks very reasonable for the price.What I didn't like was that delivery was promised the next day but was not despatched until a day after placing the order then took another 2 days to arrive after that, - if it is going to take that long be up front about it don't make promises that you cannot keep.

For a typical garden or garage gate this is fine, I have used heavier (and lockable) drop down bolts, but for average light to medium use use this is fine.

A good solid bolt, which moves easily in the support brackets. The only downside is the plate that the bolt drops into on the floor is a bit thin and flimsy.
