A High Stakes Crime Story That Never Lets Up
This movie pulls you into the world of power, money, and control right from the start and never really lets go. Set in Las Vegas in 1973, it tells a fact based story about the Mob’s multi million dollar casino operation where fortunes and lives are made and lost with a roll of the dice, and shows how quickly everything can spiral when greed and ambition take over. Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, and Joe Pesci deliver powerful performances under Martin Scorsese’s direction, bringing intensity and weight to every scene. It is the kind of film that keeps you fully engaged the entire time and leaves a lasting impression after it ends.

A match Made in Heaven
Another Amazing film from the Duo of Deniro and Scorcesse, in many respects this is the precursor to Wolf of Wall street as it shares many of the same themes of greed, crime and corruption (as well as the three hour ruining time and near constant language) and while its not as fun as that movie its still a great crime film from the master himself, While the Movie, Audio and Video are great, it sadly comes at the price of Universal's ATROCIOUS Blu-Ray menus they use with all their releases (Seriously What was Universal smoking when it slapped this together?) if you can get past that it's a great release with a range of special features, (but unfortunately they're all in standard definition and ported over from the DVD version.)

Nous ne sommes pas au pays des bisounours, quelle violence gratuite, quelle névrose. Enfin si ça leur plait de vivre ainsi à certains? Moi ce que j'en dis c'est que je vis mieux ladrement, caché, gris souris effrayée, dans le fin fond de ma campagne basque que dans les projecteurs de Las Vegas où ailleurs, ce monde artificiel où les deux seules valeurs sont pognon et violence. A part ça le film est bon, bien joué, on y croit. Mais on ne les envie pas. Cinq étoiles car c'est une performance.
