Hikari Medium Sweet White Miso Paste 400 g

Lovely product. Beautiful for dressings to give an umami flavour

Newly into this stuff works well to enhance flavouring of veggie dishes

Very very happy with those paste. I add 1 heaped teaspoon to a large mug, some dried porcini, and sliced chilli. Season with soy sauce and rice vinegar. This is the base to which I will enjoy as is, or for a more substantial meal I will add cooked chicken breast, or prawns, and throw in some udon noodles.The paste itself produces a golden broth, that is surprisingly sweet. I didn’t think I would like this being more of a savoury person, but I find that a dash of soy and some vinegar balances it out nicely.Always feel great after having this soup!

I've been using this miso for a few years - it's better value than the small jars that are available, so especially useful when needing larger amounts for stocks or sauces.The taste is light and recognisable. The pale colour makes this especially good for broths but it's important to taste before adding more salt.A bit difficult to store once open but a very versatile ingredient. I use miso a lot as I spend a lot of time in Japan - I particularly like this one and it's vegetarian/vegan friendly.

Never had miso before, but bought to use in Seitan recipes. It smells and tastes delicious- the closest thing I can describe the smell/taste as is almost a sweet Parmesan cheese (in a good way!). I was worried the package might be squashed after reading other reviews but it was in perfect condition and once opened I’ve just transferred it all into an old jam jar in my fridge rather than mess around keeping a half opened packet (it’s easy to squidge in if you just cut a corner off the pack). Perfect!

Great tasting product. Shame it comes in a non resealable bag.

We've been buying a different kind of Hikari miso but thought we would give this one a try. It's saltier, smoother but not as flavorful as the other Hikari miso; won't be buying this one again.
