This is a very nice look at Mario Bava's career
I have to admit that I do know the author so we'll get that up front. This is a very nice look at Mario Bava's career. There are many wonderful photographs, stills, posters etc that you don't see too often. Another plus is the book is a bit oversized which allows for larger size photos and text. Well worth picking up (especially if you can get it for under the cover price).

Excellent Look at the Director and His Films
Wonderful book - covers the directors life as well as a detailed look at all his films. Before I read this I was only familiar with "Black Sunday" and "Black Sabbath" - this book caused me to seek out & watch more of Bava's films.

Very Good Book with Great Photos-A Bargain.
If like me you love Bava, but can't quite afford the super expensive Tim Lucas book on the director, this is a nice alternative. The author writes very well, although slightly biased (some of Bava's work was flat out bad). All of Mario's work receives intense and lengthy reviews, and there is nice selection of interviews. The great behind the scenes photos are the icing on the cake.

Great book on a underappreciated director who heavely influenced films today
This book is very well written and full of great information on what Maria Bava had to go through to make his movies. The book goes through every movie he made and gives a great summary of each film while also sharing a lot of behind the scenes information. There are also interviews with various actors and people about Mario Bava and even the grandmaster himself. The book will make you appreciate his movies more and want to watch all of his films including the bad ones. The author also brings to light what films and filmmakers were inspired or influenced by Mario's films. If you are interested in learning more about the director, like books on movies, and/or want to discover a very underappreciated director, buy this book.

Essential for Bava fans!
This book is absolutely essential for all fans of Mario Bava. The information contained (as well as the terrific selection of lobby cards and foreign movie posters) makes this a wonderful addition to any Italian film fan's library. Well done and thank you Troy!

THE HAUNTED WORLD REVISITED
I received the book expecting the huge tome that the first one was, it is actually half the thickness, but is updated, has many photos andposters of Bava's films, lots of interviews, including Barbara Steele no less. Actually, it is more of a companion book to the first volume, asit has so much in it that isn't just straight duplication. The two books compliment each other and are a very good buy, especially in viewof the exorbitant prices that Tim Lucas book commands, that should be reprinted as soon as possible. I have no reservations in whole heartedlyrecommending this superb book, nicely laid out and with a beautiful poster from "Kill Baby Kill" as it's very colourful cover, very eye catching.
