Dongle works as described and is worth the money...
I had originally purchased on of these on eCost.com during a sale. I liked the product so much that I gave the one I had purchased to a family member as a little Christmas present to accompany a new bluetooth mouse for their pc. Since I still needed one for my bluetooth mouse, I decided to buy another of the same brand and make, but eCost had sold out of it. I tracked it down on Amazon, and was happy to receive it very quickly in the mail. This dongle is programmable using the included software disk, to be compatible with your PS3 wireless remote controller. There were very few out there that were priced affordably, which also contained the Bluetooth version 2.1 compatibility, therefore this product served multiple purposes in an extremely affordable price range. I often recommend this product, and will most likely continue to use this dongle until my computer ceases to work. Thanks.

Works but...
This item works ok for normal Bluetooth but not for using a PS3 controller on your PC. I was looking for something like this to not only get a PS3 controller to work on my PC but also to just add a Bluetooth function to my older PC. The included soft only works for normal Bluetooth functions but not the controller tethering. For that you need to download additional soft, some of which is third party freeware bundled with Planex soft. The new soft will only let you tether the controller but removes the regular functions. Only one can be installed at a time so you'll have to uninstall the included stuff if you want the tethering. It does work with a PS3 controller but not very nicely. The freeware part is not user-friendly enough for my taste and for some reason I couldn't get the square button to work. It keeps assigning it as button 0 and all the games I tried didn't work cause they would only recognize from 1 up then assign both the functions of square and X to the X button. Someone with more knowledge on this may get it to work and hopefully post it here. 3 stars for the cheap price and decent normal functionality but -2 for poor soft implementation. For the price I'm keeping it, just wish it worked better with the controller.

Great for use with Ps3 controller offline.
Just a heads-up: This product states it can cause interference with other wireless connections (e.g. wireless LAN or internet) I did notice this, and it was quite bad... Good product, received it a day earlier than expected. I installed the software included, used some 3rd party emulators instead of the included ones, and had my ps3 controller working wirelessly to my PC in about half an hour!

Works great with headsets
I haven't used this for any other purpose yet, but I bought this item so I can use my Bluetooth headset on a non-Bluetooth laptop, and it works great with two different Plantronics headsets I already had on hand. The driver and utility setup was quick and easy, and I was up and operations with Bluetooth headsets for my conference calls in a matter of minutes.

Great Buy
Couldnt be more pleased with this product. It stays plugged in to my Toshiba Satellite all the time, even when its in its sleeve and in my backpack. I can walk around the house with my blackberry and it stays connected, has good range. Transferring data, contacts, pictures and documents is a breeze. Others have complained about the blinking blue light, but its not that large or bright. I hardly notice it. For the price, its definitely worth putting up with. I am so glad I didnt spend 40 bucks buying one from bestbuy, this one works just as well. I got this mainly to use with my blackberry so I havent tried out headphones or anything else. The installation is a breeze with the CD software that came with it. I had my Blackberry synced up in less than 5 minutes.

Useful USB BlueTooth adapter, works equally well on Linux as on MS Windows
While I admittedly do very little with Bluetooth, I do use it often enough that I purchase a few different BT adapters. Range is meagre (as it is for the majority of BT devices, most being in the low milliWatt range), however, it supports enough profiles to be used for (say) BlueProximity on Linux :) Again, I can confirm that this DOES work on any reasonably recent distribution of Linux (e.g., RHEL5/6, CentOS 5/6, OSL 11.x etcetera) for those curious or looking to use it on a non-MS operating system. Tested it briefly on Windows 7 64bit, seemed to work fine there as well.

I'm using it under Linux (Ubuntu 10.04), it works flawless "out of the box" (no additional driver needed). I can't tell about Windows or MacOS. It's tiny, I like the rounded corners - I think if you'd use it on a laptop (I'm not) and want to leave it plugged in, that's a plus to more rectangular ones - less chance to get caught on anything and rip it out accidentially.
