Watco 63081 Lacquer Clear Wood Finish Spray, 11.25 oz, Gloss Clear

Watco spray lacquer works great for finishing or refinishing guitars. I have an expensive compressor and spray gun, but I tend to get better results from the Watco spray in the right conditions. Those conditions include: air temperature over 55 F degrees, humidity below 50%, clean spray nozzle, and preheating the spray can in hot water.

Great stuff for glossing over waterslide decal application on headstocks..No sanding necessary before or between coats if you know how to follow directions..I applied 4 coats over a 2 day period, and the results were outstanding!

An old standby that my local stores quit carrying. I’m glad Amazon stocks it at a reasonable price.

I use this lacquer for all paints and all projects from guitars, pianos, automotive touch ups and anything I need to be shiny with weather resistance. You absolutely need several coats. Give yourself the dry time and it can take sanding/polish. Easy to work with . Watch your over spray and don't lay too thick on coats. One can goes a long way.

The spray pattern was good and the flow was steady. The coverage was excellent and the finish was smooth and even. I tried a different brand before this one and had a lot of problems with inconsistent spray flow and the spray just stopped and there was about half a can that I could not use. I do highly recommend Watco Spray Lacquer. As with all lacquer you have to use it when the humidity is low or the finish will be hazy.

Nice clear and dries fast! But..... Great, if you're using this for the only clear coat and no other coatings with other brands. Do not mix different clear brands. Will not work out well at all.

The reason for this low number of stars is simply After clicking on purchased my daughter noticed that this product is toxic and told me no dad I don’t my kids playing, biting on wood toys that have a toxic finish, I contacted the seller, to change my purchase, not possible. I simply contacted another seller which was more cooperative and offered a plant - wax base finish, this finish bring the wood grain out and the toys look great and the little ones are safe.
