It's a literary classic.
I love T.S. Elliott so I'm very biased. He's great! Read all his books.

Wonderful book
I am disappointed. No dust jacket on the hardcover edition of this book. In addition to the softcover version of this title, I bought this HC as a keepsake. I am taking my granddaughters to the B’way production of “Cats” and I bought the hardcover edition as a keepsake. Was cover omitted in error? Please advise. Thank you!

not just for CATS lovers. It's for words lovers.
Delightful. It is playing with words just like cats play with string. Fun made up names. should definitely read it before you see CATS.

Delightful
As I grow older and have fabulous memories of seeing “Cats” on stage twice in the 1980s and 1990s, I wanted to know how faithful the lyrics were to the poems of T.S.Elliott. I was delighted to read the book for the first time. One should buy this book and the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical production of CATS to get the full enjoyment of both. 💕💕💕💕

Most charming litle illustrated book (comes with excellent CD) I've seen in a long time.
I accidentally came across this little booklet and CD called GRUNT – Pigorian Chant,” and I found it to be one of most charming and humorous books I have seen in a long time. This little book contains the Latin (and even Pig Latin!) texts of a totally fictitious farm, where the animals live on a kind of “Old MacDonald’s Funny Farm,” (this song is indeed mentioned in Latinized form), but strictly regulated and patterned after medieval monastic daily life. The pages opposite to the hilarious Latin texts are helpful English translations—of course, it’s even better if the reader brings along some knowledge of Latin. The Introduction presents a bogus history of the “non-existent farmstead of Snouto Domoinko de Silo,” where the pigs are called twelve times a day to grunt their “unadorned, ethereal music of Pigorian Chant.”I found especially appealing the mix of different snippets of Latin, ranging from allusions to the Catholic liturgy to Latin proverbs, quotes, puns, and terms. Horace’s famous “Carpe diem!” is quoted in the correct Latin plural command form “Carpite Diem,” when the nervous chickens desperately exhort the lazy pigs (who would as soon snooze and snore the whole day away) to make productive use of the day.Well-known children’s book illustrator Sarah Boynton contributed caricature-like, but appealing, renditions of pigs, chickens, cows, ducks, and sheep, and the singing voices on the accompanying CD are well chosen, even professional. While often using the form of parody, the resulting product is never irreverent or offensive—at worst, there may be a slight critique of New Age mindless use of Gregorian chant as background for relaxation exercises.

‘Memories’, ‘Memories’, memories of those old sweet, bygone times. . .
Aside from the trouble I’m having with trying to figure out how to adjust the page layout on my iPad Pro for kindle content, it’s better than I’d expected. I remember reading this when I was in College (long long, ago), so it seems very familiar. Still, I seem to have mis-remembered a lot of it. But that’s not the fault of the book, is it? No, I don’t have anything bad to say about this book, so I’m happy to say, it’s e❌ceeded my expectations and, because of the pleasure, contained in this treasure, I believe it deserves: 4➕⭐️s. (That’s the highest rating I ‘EVER’ give any purchased item. (Amazon, your rating system is too limiting). (5 ⭐️s = 100% or ‘perfect’, which is “impossible”, so 5 ⭐️s, doesn’t ‘cut’ it with me).

See the movie
Loved the film. Love the poems. Some informative commentary about the origin of the song "Memories".The book is a great tie-in, faithfully showing the original inspiration for the musical.I think film critics who panned the film must spend too much time playing video games and watching adventure films made with exclusively CGI effects. They don't seem to have any experience of Theatre and its artistic conventions and unique attractions, where actual people create incredible performances. "Cats the Movie" is a stage show reimagined for the cinema. I thought it was brilliant!
