Quality headphones; Worth the price!
I'm hard on headphones, both in expectations and in physical abuse. When I buy a set, they will be with me all throughout the house, on the bus ride to school, and then whenever I have free time AT school. They get thrown into my bookbag (which then itself gets tossed about like chips at Chipotle), stuffed into my pockets (for earbuds), etc. And while I may not be an audiophile, sound quality is THE most important feature to me when it comes to researching a new set. That's why I was weary of the Skullcandy Aviators. In the past, I've owned various Skullcandy products, and just about every pair was bass-heavy, severely unbalanced to the point of EQs being useless. So when I saw these pop up for around $128 brand-spankin' new on Amazon, I started to read the reviews all over the web, which led me to seriously consider these. About a week later, I had the chance to listen to a demo set using my phone (which allowed me to hear them as I would use them). Man oh man, was I impressed. Before I even messed with the DSP settings on my phone, I was amazed at just how crystal clear they sounded. Everything was balanced, no "tinny" sound or distorted bass. Just a smooth, even sound. Once I adjusted my DSP effects, I was in love. With a pair of headphones. As soon as I got home, I ordered these suckers. Two days later, I had them out and started using them immediately. One of my favorite surprises was the handy cleaning cloth and carrying case. The cloth is one of those microfiber deals, allowing you to wipe the smudge off the outer shell of the earpieces, A.K.A. fingerprint magnets. After you fold the headphones up, a job that makes you feel uneasy at first due to the way that this works, you can then place them in the carry case, which is lined with the same microfiber material as the cloth (neat-o!) and zippers up to keep unwanted evils off of your magical sound wizard. I really have no gripes except for a minor one, which will minor thanks to the detachable cord. One of the issues I always seem to have with headsets is the dreaded shorted cord, and the Aviators are no different thanks due in part to my dragging them with me everywhere I go. I can't seem to find them online anywhere (if anyone knows where to get them, please let me know). So far, I've contacted Skullcandy support via Twitter and email, and am waiting to hear back from them. I'll update my review when this gets sorted out. Again, this is only a minor issue, and one that is almost unavoidable when used the way that I do. That being said, it would have been nice if it had lasted a bit longer (it's only been 4 months). The cord is of good quality, though. It's one of those braided thin-yet-tough setups, very reassuring when you're paying more than $100 for headphones. Overall, I am thoroughly glad that I had given this set a chance and cannot recommend them enough to my friends and family, although most people I know can't comprehend paying more than $50 for headphones. I was the same way until I bought these, and I hope that you will change your mind too after buying them. ----- UPDATE Feb 09, 2015: I realize that I never updated my Amazon review. Guess what? I still have these headphones! It's been nearly 3 years, and they still work. There's a lot of visible wear-and-tear, but they still work both mechanically and audibly. The shorted cord issue in the original review was absolutely no issue at all. Skullcandy got back to me within a week and had sent out a new (and better quality) replacement cord, free of charge and no questions asked (other than my address). That replacement cord is still with me to this day. Worth every penny, especially now that they're only $80. ----- UPDATE August 2017: They're still my headphone of choice. So much so, that I actually bought a new pair early last year (almost 4 years to the date!) when the original set fell apart in multiple places. That's a very good run for me when it comes to headphones, which made my choice to re-order them a no-brainer. The new pair are great, and came with the same style of cord that I received as a replacement in 2015. I still say that these are worth the money now with the same conviction as I had in 2012.

Best headphones ever purchased
They sound INCREDIBLE. 200% worth the money. I can't listen to music any other way. They sound unbelievable, I am very surprised at the quality of these headphones. They fit very comfortably for extended periods. I also wear glasses often, and some headphones tend to dig the glasses into my head and causes pain after 20-30 minutes of use. These don't. They're very comfortable. They're light weight and look gorgeous.I like how you can see inside the headphones to the driver. Another plus is that the cord unplugs from the headphones for ease of storage and helps if they get caught on something, they will just come unplugged and not damage the headphones or cord. I use these for casually listening to music to making hip hop and dance beats on my computer to recording drum tracks with a couple of my bands. They don't bleed sound much. Sure, they do a bit, but you won't disturb the people around you when you're rockin out to a song you love. While you're listening to music at your preferred volume, you can't hear anything else. They block out all other sounds. Skip Dre Beats. Hell, skip all other headphones. As far as I am concerned, these headphones are all you'll need. I can't recommend these enough. Save your pennies. Worth all of 150$. Every cent.

Surely met my expectations. (8.5/10)
To be truly honest, I was a bit on the fence about buying these headphones. I had bad experiences with quality from Skullcandy's in-ear headphones (even the more expensive ones). I decided to give them a try because I really like the style and the color, plus the many reviews that appeared in several places. Now, I do own several brands like Bose, Beats, Sony and Seinnheiser, in many styles (in-ear, over-ear, etc.), and I consider myself a picky music listener. These are some impressions on these Aviators so far: LOOKS: 9 -At first, it took a moment to get used to the style but, after many compliments, I wear them now with pride. COMFORT: 8 -While they feel very soft and snug, after a couple of hours my ears start to feel hot and, since I wear glasses, they start to dig in because of the preassure (usually I do not wear headsets for that long). They are not heavy at all. CONSTRUCTION: 7 -The Aviators look sturdy enough (stainless steel over heavy leather headband). However, the finish on the earcups and the golden finish of the head support make me nervous. They look very prone to scratching. The support wiring for the headband feels like it would not take much bending. Only time (and care) will tell. The Mic3 cord is made of a nylon material and seems strong enough. My problem is that the cord itself creates audible feedback when rubbed againts something like your jacket. It's very annoying. The Mic3 seems made of cheap plastic, but the controls feel responsive. PORTABILITY: 7 -These headsets come with a very nice, good quality carrying bag. The Aviators fit very snug, although it can be difficult to put them in and take them out. Unfortunately, it is kind of a big fit to stash in a backpack or carrying them around, and if you do not use the pouch, they can easily get scratched. SOUND QUALITY: 10 -This is by far the most important aspect for me. I did break in the 40mm drivers for 40+ hours. I must say that the sound reproduction is excellent. The highs, mids and lows show up very clear. These headsets made me want to listen to my library again. From classical to pop, hip-pop, R&B, rock and electronic music, the instruments, vocals, drums, bass, etc., were very distinctive. The bass may be lacking for people who love it, but for me, it was strong enough without being overbearing and the highs did not "bleed" over the the lows and mids. PRICE: 9 -Overall, I recommend these. With a $125-$150 price tag, it is a very good option to more expesive headphones.

A Sacred Ritual Begins Here
Reading a review, some of you want the specifics and others just want a layperson's opinion of the product; this is the latter of the two: They are beautiful; just as beautiful as they look in that picture. Just as beautiful as they look in your dreams. The ears as you suspect fit over yours, with thick enough pads around the edges to made your ears still seem as though they are unaffected, though the warmth and support of the headphones is obviously there still(just not irritating the ears--I've worn these all day on multiple occasion to no affect, no irritations). That top bit is sturdy and comfortable. The sound quality is what you'd want. You have the ability to focus on any particular piece of what's happening in the music(or film or whatever). You can FEEL the bass but it manages to not come across as overpowering. My main concern is the unprotected feel of the input jack, but that's fairly standard of skullcandy and one should expect it. You reading this not knowing what to expect makes it sound deterring--it's really not an issue, or hasn't been. The reason for my title is this: Because it is so beautiful and so precious, I have a marked reluctance to wear it on casual outings. The thought of it breaking in the midst of play or it getting stolen or whatever gives me a degree of anxiety, so I refrain. I personally consider these Domestic Headphones. That said, they have quickly become a very important piece of my every day life on the homefront. I hope this helps you make your decision. <3

Best Headphones I have Owned.
I am hearing impaired and find that these give me the best performance of any headphones that I have tried. I tried the very expensive Bluetooth Sennheiser Headphones, they were nice but the Skullcandy S6AVFM-157 Aviator Headphones with Mic (Brown/Gold) are by far much better for me. Much more volume, and the sound is much richer, fuller, better base and treble. I use these with a Bluetooth transmitter that I put in my laptop earphone jack or my hearing-amplifier's ear-bud jack. The receiver plugs directly into the bottom of the left ear-cup. Once they are "Paired", I have a very high quality Bluetooth Headphone set-up. It is truly wonderful, I wear them much of the day and night, with my laptop. Listening to music or movies is great. The Bluetooth set-up even gives me additional volume. I bought one pair of the Skullcandy S6AVFM-157 Aviator in December 2012; liked them so much I tried to order a second set for back-up and to use in my office. But they sent the model that does NOT have the detachable cable, and the ear-cup caps were missing. I got NO satisfaction from the mistaken order; but did re-order the correct model Skullcandy S6AVFM-157 Aviator Headphones. I love this model, I got the Brown/gold ones, and get a lot of complements when I often wear them in public. They show a bit a wear, but like I said, I use these every single day for many hours on end. I recommend these based on my experience; just beware that there is a model that has a non-removable cable, it is a different set of headphones.

Great design, portable (wonderful faux leather bag)
Pros: Great design, portable (wonderful faux leather bag), great soundstage for the price Cons: If you adjust the pads on the sliding rails while wearing them, it can be a bit painful due to hearing the echo of the noise through the earpads. I advise to adjust then place on your head. The metal adjustment arms solder points look like they might be a bit weak. After reading the review on Head Fi about this pair of headphones, I decided to take the plunge at 89.99 and I do not regret it for a moment. Skullcandy's support and warranty is fantastic and this is a definite (DEFINITE) upgrade over the Hesh 2 I purchased at a Radioshack that was closing nearby. More comfortable, MUCH better sound, more portable, MIC3 cord, etc. I purchased these as my 'in-public' headphones since my Grado's leak wayyy too much sound. These are near silent when worn and sound amazing (for the price).

Pretty to look at, above average sound
The good: Good-looking, comfortable, pleasant above average sounding, lightweight, low clamping force. The bad: Spindly and fragile. Not for children. No noise-cancellation (passive or active). Can't turn up the volume: they distort quickly. Overall: Excellent headphone for the price (90$). Build quality = 3 of 5 Comfort = 3.5 of 5 Clarity = 3.5 of 5 Bass = 3 of 5 Noise cancellation = 1.5 of 5

Excellent pair of headphones if found at a lower price!
I have had these for about a month and use them daily. I own several other headphone models, and these are my go to for comfortable wearing and overall nice sound profile. They are not as bass-heavy as the Hesh 2.0, so if you listen to a lot of rap/pop/dusbstep/big room and want bass heavy headphones, look at the Hesh 2.0 or Skullcandy Crushers. However, if you want a nice balanced sound profile in a lightweight headphone, don't hesitate to pick these up. The cushions are soft, these adjust over a large range, and these come with a nice leather traveling case/pouch(these fold up) that has storage inside for the cable and the cleaning cloth. My one caveat is that I think they are too expensive at $150 bucks. They are definitely worth it if you can find them for less than $100, because at that price you can find higher fidelity headphones. Skullcandy got it right with these, but $150 MSRP is too high. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone if found at a lower price!

Skullcandy S6AVDM6003 ROC nation Aviator Casque audio arceau...
