Works great to rehome chipmunks - 4 in 5 days
Chipmunks love sun flower seeds. I put sunflower seeds in the bottom of a box at the end where the trigger is. I put a little peanut butter with seeds stuck to it on the trigger - but a bunch under the trap so they have to work to try and get them. I also put the trap inside a box with a smaller hole for them to enter and the top was cut as a flip top - this allowed me to lift the top and look to see if there was something in the trap. In addition - putting the trap inside a box keeps the animal calmer. We just picked up the whole box, put it in the car and took it to its new home. Plus the box keeps any feces/urine from getting to your vehicle. We released them all in the same place, a park almost 7 miles away. I've read that if you release them closer - they will find their way back.

very well balanced.
Unlike mouse traps this has a light trigger from the start , no adjustment necessary.Just place the bait in larger pieces behind the trip pedal so they have to go over it and so the bait like bread dont get under the pedal to stop it from tripping.I also put a wood shim as a walkway to the trigger plate because theyll try to go around it . and use a bunch of weeds to cover it and make it look more disguised. Now something got half way in and threw it all around the back yard ,so I may need a bigger trap.

Doesn't work
We were trying to catch a chipmunk loose in the house, but this trap doesn't work at all. The chipmunk ate all of the dog chow and peanut butter over the past week. One time the trap was triggered, and the other times it wasn't. Don't waste your money.

Works like a charm!
I can't believe how good it worked! Chipmunks were having their way with my vegetable garden and started to eat our vegetables. I caught 8 in a week! Yep! I couldn't believe it! I have tried many kinds of traps before this, but most of them are useless or too cruel, very disappointed....Neighbors recommended this rat trap to me, very easy to use. I used nuts attached to it as bait and they were catched quickly. Bottom line, this traps won't hurt them, human design. I relocated them a few kilometers away from home to release them. Worked great for my troubles, worked 100% perfectly. I highly recommend this product!

This version of a live catch trap has a couple of flaws compared to an earlier version I prefer.
I usually order a different live catch trap but the one I like was out of stock and I really needed something soon, so I gave it a try.1) This one doesn't have the storage latch like the other ones I have used in the past. There should be a clip to hold the door open while adding a lure to the bait tray, but they left it out of this one. It still works but you have to hold the door open with your arm while loading the lure onto the triggering tray, which I find to be awkward.2) There is a piece of molded wire that serves as a handle that inserts into the door. It slipped out every time I used it, but I found a workaround for this using a dab of Gorilla Glue on the points where the wire should have been welded to the door.3) One other thing to watch out for - the bait plate has a very sharp point covered by a lable. When I pulled the label off it punctured my finger. Ouch!Otherwise, I am happy to report that the trap has worked for me once I figured out how to deal with the missing elements.

Doesn’t really work
The trip mechanism is not sensitive enough. After almost one year of use, the trap door usually failed to close even after the bait was taken. The one time it did snap shut, the trap was found empty meaning whatever was trapped inside was able to find its way out of the trap. Perhaps the spring was not strong enough to hold the door closed?

Does a good job of catching mice
The trap is very easy to set up and SUPER effective for mice - Put a piece of cheese and peanut butter on the pedal and it is successfully caught it. And I don't have to touch them, I can open the door easily to release them. Would highly recommend if you have a mice problem! 5⭐️!

Broke
Used it twice. The second time whatever was caught ripped the wiring and got out. Not strong

Nice size
Seems sturdy enough, easy to set up but as yet I haven't caught my little ratty…. However that may not be because the trap doesn’t work as he hasn’t been seen for ages so maybe he’s moved on….. I don’t want to harm him just move him far from my home.
