Enjoyable, Not Just for Young Adults
I didn't know Umm Zakiyyah had come out with some new books since the "If I Should Speak" trilogy, so I was happy to stumble across this in the Kindle store. It's the story of a young American girl who moved to Saudi Arabia with her mother when she was nine, and has now moved back to the states. She must face the trials of do I want to be "visibly" Muslim or do I want to be "normal." Even older Muslims can relate to that as a struggle, and it's something that our kids will definitely go through as well, so it's a good read. I enjoyed it tremendously, but wished it had been flushed out more. It's a quick read…and like all of her books, ends too soon! Would have loved to hear more from the character Anisa (Inaya's Mom's friend), as well as hear more about Nasra. I'm hoping that there's a sequel in the works. :)I've been Muslim for 15+ years. Like many, some days/years are easier than other. One thing I've found is that Umm Zakiyyah's fiction is always inspirational. I always take away something that helps me. Jazakh'Allah Sister for that. I've also recently discovered her Facebook page, which I enjoy following.

Wonderful!
I enjoyed reading this story as I enjoy all of your writings. They serve as entertainment and great reminders for us as Muslims. I was overjoyed when Inaya came out in hijab, was not expecting that but great point. A sequel with her and Raymond would be great, add in Nasra and Kayla too, maybe her friend comes from Saudia Arabia and deals with the struggle of the different environments... Great reading

Muslim Girl- A Good girl!!
Alhamdulillah. Wonderful story. I understand the story could get more critics. But I love the way of emphasizing the fact that external causes can only bother your muslim look and not your heart & faith on Allah. Fighting our desires and comforts of duniya is what we need. It brings us hope, not to falter form deen but 'Holding on to the rope of aqeedah, tighter and tighter'
