Great if you're wanting a "medium" amount of hair stripped
This knife is great. It does a good job and is comfortable to use. Just know that it allows you to pull a medium amount of hair. If you're looking to rip out some coat, you'll need a different knife.

Perfect for my golden retrievers “spay coat”
I bought this along with the undercoat rake and it has worked wonders on my Goldens spay coat! After I was through with him the first time using, I was amazed at how much hair I had!

Great for undercoat stripping
Super for terrier stripping! I use it on Cairn and West Highland terriers with much success and ease.

Blade NOT secured in handle -wobbles,but ok
I use this on my spayed longhair miniature dachshund. Her hair is "frizzy" due to the hormonal changes from spaying. This gets some of the oddball hairs out leaving her coat more natural looking. Hair comes right out. They recommend long strokes; sometimes where I'm working I have to use short strokes. She's tiny!This is a right handed model. If you switch hands, just watch which way the blade is facing. I have small hands so it fits my hand perfectly.The only downside is the blade is loose in the wooden handle. Not sure if it's a manufacturing problem as both of the ones I purchased have the same issue. It doesn't affect the effectiveness, just something to be aware of. I took away one star because the blade wobbles. At this price, you would expect the blade to be solidly attached in the handle.This is my second purchase. I loaned out the first, and.....

This item is really difficult to find at the pet stores. We have a border terrier and have been hand stripping - this tool worked better than expected.
