Does it's job exceedingly well for the price.
I bought this last year for my father, he is a big time Coke drinker. And when I say big time, I mean the man has probably literally not had a glass of water in 15 years (but let's not get into a health discussion here). Some years ago he grew concious of his effect on the environment from throwing away all these aluminum cans when he could be recycling them. The problem was he would line them up on the ground and crush them by stomping on them. Obviously this was a tedious task and he would let literally multiple hundreds of cans pile up in his kitchen, to the point you could not even set a plate down (he's an old timey bachelor, no reason to clean up).Well I decided to take the initiative and buy this for him even though I had mentioned several times before he should buy some kind of crusher to simplify things. Since I knew he drank so much, this seemed like a much better solution over single can crushers.Well since visiting his house I have had the oppurtunity to try this thing out several times whilst helping him clean up his home. I will load up a garbage bag with a couple dozen cans and go out and crush them.It really is a remarkably simple device that provides much convenience. You can easily load up 9 or 10 cans as advertised, the plastic "cage" style basket lets you easily correct any cans that bounce up at odd angles. Takes maybe 10 seconds to load it and then you commence the crushing. I don't quite strive for 10 seconds, but it takes maybe 20 seconds at a leisurely pace, it actually is pretty efficient. It's constructed of all plastic but that doesn't diminish the performance of the crushing. The "ram" part lifts up so you can insert elongated cans or to put that single can in. The actual crushing mechanism is pretty durable, with the "cage" being a little lighter, but really the cage is not subjected to any forces that could damage it.Since buying this he now crushes his cans much more frequently and instead of hundreds piling up now maybe only a dozen or two will. He is actually fortunate enough to live near a recycling area that pays out money for aluminum so he will actually come back with a decent chunk of change ($30-50) when he finally takes a load down. The only con is an occasional can will get stuck, but it's not a deal breaker. I still have to give this thing 5 stars because of the convenience to price ratio. If you need to crush a lot of cans this is your guy right here, if you need to crush only a can once in a while then maybe check out a single can crusher.

It works, but is it worth the cost?
It was easy to setup and it crushes well. I also like the space on the bottom where it falls out when it is crushed and I put a box under it to catch it. There are other can crushers out there which can crush one at a time which I have used before. This is more quick and more acurate in crushing it down and not popping out and easy to drop into a box. My only problem is that when you order it, the prices is right, just the shipping can increase the cost 50% or more depending on the place you are ordering from. If you can get a shipping cost of $5.00 or less, then I think it is a good deal. I just did not like ths shipping costs being so much. If it was at a local store, I would buy it without thinking twice because the tax would be much less than shipping.

Aluminum Can Crusher
I rate this device at 4 stars and not the full 5 as the pins are the weak point. They are not secured and slip out over time. However, with that said and with a simple farm implement clip (has spring which holds in place) it works better than described. It will do exactly as manufacturer describes and crush a whole basket full of aluminum cans (10 to 12) faster than any other we've had. This one is a simple movement of the arm and presto - the can is crushed. It is so easy that my 10 year old grandson has a ball with it as he just loves to be destructive to the cans. If a 10 year old can crush cans using this device with no troubles, even an old man like me can as well. Buy it, replace the knee pin with a better one and crush cans to your hearts content. ColGilly

Tips I learned when crushing more than 2300 cans
I've been using this can crusher for more than a year with no problems. I generate about 45 cans a week to crush. I find it best to let the bin contain at least 3 cans when I start a crunch so there's enough weight to keep the cans in place. Works best for standard size cans. Mount firmly to the wall. Place where the handle can move freely. Every now and then the side pieces that form the bin may pop outside the bottom of the structure, but they're easily put back into place with a finger. Doesn't work well if you bend your cans before you place the in the crusher bin because that messes up the alignment.

Its still working
The bail to hold the cans is completely useless and broke about the third use. However I have turned the kids loose on this thing to crush all of our cans and they can get quite rough with it. We've had it for over a year now and it is still working like a champ (except for the bail, that thing has been lost since we got it).

Why did you send me two of the same thing?
The product works ok but you did not inform me that the cans have to be loaded with the bottom facing out, otherwiseit will jam up. I say further that I did not ordered two of the same thing one of them was to be for LARGE CANS! The crusher worked ok after I discovered the secret! Really instructions should be included.

Great item to have.
I read other reviews and decided to try this can crusher. It works really well. For some reason I thought it crushed 10 cans at one time but it only crushes 1 can at a time. However, 10 cans fit in the hopper and once you start crushing the cans it moves really fast. Except for the screws, it is made completely out of plastic. Didn't think it would stand up to the constant crushing but so far so good. It's easy to operate and really gets the job done. Even the kids love to crush cans now. I recommend this product to anyone who wants a fast and efficient crusher.

My husband loved the can Crusher
My husband loved the can Crusher. He put it together right away and it worked great. He was able to assembly it quickly and mount it on the back porch. He come back in and said I had done good by choosing this one.
