good deal for the price
my brother told me to try it out after looking at bits in the $70 range I figured for the price it would be junk but was really surprised. I worked over a piece of maple going 1/4" deep on both sides and it seemed to work great, left decent ridges but they sanded out easy with 50grit on a belt sander.

Worked well on 75 yer old red oak planks that were 2 1/2 - 3 inches thick.
Plus it ran through a cut nail or two and showed no signs of damage. I flattened some oak planks that are 75 years old. I know becasue the man that put them up wrote the date on them. He put them up green and they cupped something terrible and twisted too. They are 11 inches wide by 60 inches long and 2 1/2 inches thick. I'll only be able to get about 2 inches of thickness out of them but it was easier with the router than trying to do it by hand with a scrub plane, and cheaper than trying to find a mill to basically risk damaging their equipment on the beat up old planks.

good, not perfect
Flattened a whole 1.5 m × 1.5 m slab of hardwood; did a decent job, but there are some tear-ups.

Worth it - Glad I pressed buy it
I used this to flatten end grain cutting boards on a home made flattening sled I made. Overall I do not think you can beat this bit. The price is low and it actually does a pretty good job. My only complaint is it does create a ball-park lawn mowed effect, so be ready to spend a lot of time sanding that out. I'm sure that comes with the territory with flattening bits due to how they bend the grain based on the direction of bit spin. So far, I've flattened 3 white oak end grain boards all 10 x 11, and 6 walnut end grain boards all 11 x 17, and other smaller things such as coasters and other smaller walnut end grain boards and the bit is still has sharp as the day I got it. I do take shallow passes though.

Quality bit at great price
This flattening bit is a high quality bit at a good price point. I used this to flatten oak cookies that I gave as Christmas gifts. I’ve also used it to make a bunch of charcuterie boards. The bit has stayed sharp after multiple pieces of hardwood. I used it with a Porter Cable plunge router and it was a very smooth cut with no tear out or burn marks. Take your time with these cuts and don’t force it and you’ll be happy with the results. Definitely recommend.

works as advertised
I got this to flatten a workbench top . I glued 3 2"x 12"x 8' & sandwiched in 2 2"x 4"x 8' together & built a router sled to plane the top & bottom . This bit attached to a Hercules router worked well to remove & flatten the top . The remaining work was done by a palm sander in an attempt to remove what the router left behind . The router & bit did leave some somewhat questionable & unacceptable remnants . I'd have to say that the purchase of a 3 blade power planer would have made this a far better job as well as maybe using 2"x 3" or 2"x 4"s instead . As it ended up the thickness at the thinnest is less than 1 1/4" vs 1 3/8 . I ended up beefing up the underside with 3/4" plywood in preparation for bench dogs . So being this is a 6' L x 3'W x 38"H mobile workbench , I'm not losing any sleep over this besides the top & 2 shelves are painted a washed out satin yellow with flat black . Besides the fact that it's heavy I installed 4 3" corner mounted swivel wheels with 2 2" mid mounted swivel wheels , it's still got a mind of it's own when pulling it out & stowing it . Bottom line is the bit would probably be better suited in a professional made flattening system vs homemade one made out of plywood vs an MDF made one . So yes it works & I'll leave it at that .

Good product for the money!
I've used this bit and few times now on an epoxy project and a piece of ironwood and it seems to be holding up great! I get just a little bit of swirling in the epoxy flattening but that may be my own error in going too fast. I'm happy with the purchase.

It was good for one slab. Get blunt after that.

Works great. With a homemade sled it took less than a minute to flatten a guitar body flat ready for a cap to be glued on
