Tall man loves this chair
I just finished putting this chair together for my home office and it's awesome. I'm 6'8" tall 250 lbs.One of the issues us tall guys have is support under our thighs because we have very long femur bones. The seat on this model slides forward. Coupled with the fact that the bracket that holds the seat back slides back, I'm really happy with the support under my legs. The edge of the seat is right behind my knee, where it should be.The height of the chair is perfect for me. Typically, chairs don't go high enough. This does.I set the armrests to be as wide as possible and there is plenty of room for by lower body. They adjust right up to my elbow as the should. They can go higher, they can go lower. The seat cushion is really nice and thick. Comfy. Not too firm, but firm enough that I'm not pushing down on the board.Assembly was easy. It includes the allen wrench that works on all 7 bolts. The bolts tighten perfectly into the drilled holes of the chair. No need for nuts that get loose and fall off! yay!The seat back feels good on my back. Again, tall guys have an issue where the head rest of typical chairs hits me on my shoulder blades. This seat back ends right below my shoulders but they don't have anything that protrudes, so it's fine. The support is good.I'll update my review after using this thing a few months if there is anything negative. First impressions are great.

Great chair for exceptional value
I initially bougt this chair to replace my worn out Staples office chair of 8 years and it has done wonders for my sitting posture since then.Buy this if:You like lumbar on your lower back (you cannot adjust lumbar)If you need the optional "gliding seat" mechanismIf you have a tall table (the lowest position sits a tad high than other office chairs I've had in the past)You need alot of air-flow to your back.Do NOT buy this if:You are short (your feet won't touch the ground)You want to adjust the back-rest separately from the seat. You need arm rests that have on-the-fly width adjustabilityYou are coming from a Herman Miller chairOnto the actual review... The arms are SOLID. I don't know if the company took the previous reviews to heart, but I can balance myself on JUST the arms without it so much as creaking (I am not light). The lumbar was perfect for me, which worked out because it is not a feature you can adjust. Being of average height (5'10''), it supported my lower back and it helped me to correct my slouching sitting posture. The mesh back was a welcome feature as I have alot of body heat, and the seat itself is very supportive. I wouldn't call it memory foam by any means but the material that you sit on can be described as sort of a thick breathable foam that keeps the shape of your preferred seating arrangement to a certain degree. Lastly, I will say that I am one of the strange individuals that likes to sit with both my legs crossed underneath me in the office chair. The gliding seat mechanism gives me enough room to comfortably sit in this posture! This chair certainly met all my needs and more, but I can see where it will not meet the needs for some people. For a similar price-point, there is a seat by the same company that provides the exact chair but with the ability to adjust the back-rest separately from the seat itself. The only drawback is that this model does not have the gliding mechanism of the seat. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0074GX2YE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0

Great chair, weak arm rests
Pros:-My back is COLD. Mesh makes more of a difference than I expected.-Easy assembly-Chair SEEMS to have a sturdy baseCons:-Arms seem kind of flimsy for heavy-use-Arms don't sit as low as I'd like. That said, they adjust to as low as ~8" tall, they just happen to clip my desk a lot-Chair's lowest height setting is higher than most chairs I have tried. at 5'10", my feet reach the floor perfectly on the lowest setting. If you're shorter, you might want to reconsiderI'm what you call a heavy-sitter. As a programmer, I spend 8-10 hours a day in a chair. This one provides more back support than my previous chairs, and appears to have a sturdy base, which hopefully won't wear out and cause the chair to wobble. The arm rests are a little iffy, and never seem to be where I want them. They're rather flimsy feeling, and I fear that adjusting my seat by placing my weight onto them will wear them out, but time will tell. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. If there's any major wear'n'tear within a year, I'll edit the review to make note of it.Updates (also in comments below):I would like to make just two complaints.First, the mesh fabric on the back has become slightly loose. It is still firmly attached at all points on the chair, and still provides complete support, so this is a minor concern. I am a heavy lounger, so I tend to lean back a lot and this chair has done a good job at supporting my weight.Second, there is minor damage to the right arm rest. The arm rests are basically a firm rubber/plastic material with a metal form on the inside. At the edge of this metal frame, the rubber padding has torn due to the way I place my weight on the arm rests when adjusting my seat. The damage is a small 2" tear at the very back end.Aside from those minor complaints, the base of the chair is still completely sturdy, the seat is still comfortable, the arm rests haven't been damaged that I can see, and the back of the chair still provides great support. If the chair makes it past 2 years, it will have been one of the best investments I've made in terms of office supplies/furniture.March 21st, 2015: Both arm rests now have significant tearing - Enough to be annoying due to rough edges. I've repaired them quite adequately with super glue, but it's worth saying that the arm rests are really the weak link for this chair.

Purchased in 2018 and still feels like new
Rolls and adjusts very nicely. Easy to clean. Super smooth. The cushion hasn't broken down at all in the years I've owned it. Great chair! I wanted to buy another one and I'm bummed it's almost twice that price now but that's inflation for ya.

Great buy
I bought this for my son for Christmas 2014 and he loves it so much that he is getting me one for next Christmas. It goes together easily, is comfortable and durable. The armrests are a teensy bit wobbly but so are the chairs in the office where I work. They don't actually move - it is just the armrest attachment to the arm that jiggles a bit. They feel completely secure. My son is a programmer, software developer and gamer and the chair suits him just fine. It is a great buy at $170 to $190.

A disappointment
As a tall guy, I was excited to read another review describing this chair as well suited for big/tall men. That excitement quickly turned to disappointment when the chair arrived and I assembled it to find that quality to be poor. The chair made a loud cracking/squeaking noise when you sit in it. I carefully examined it to ensure I hadn't made a mistake during the assembly process to no avail. The recline function is poorly conceived as there are really only 2 recline 'lock' positions and they feel either leaned too far back or too far forward. The chair is also very uncomfortable. I'm sending it back.

Wobbly seat and cheap construction
Pros :Great back support, the mesh works really well.Mesh backing keeps things cool. The casters roll well and the base is stable.Assembly was easy.Cons :The seat wobbles horribly in every direction possible. The seat is very poorly padded and I find it uncomfortable. The armrests are terrible. Conclusion :I fixed most of what is wrong with this chair with extra purchases but there is no way to fix the wobbly seat as the part that connects the hydraulic piston to the seat is in a metal box. Really disappointing, this chair could have been 5 stars but its held back by cheap construction.
