Dump & Bake Cakes

This book brims with incredibly simple, yet delicious cakes. I've been using it as a starting point and then changing ingredients as my mood and cupboard dictates. I loved it so much that I bought 5 of them and gave them to family and friends. One person loved the fact that you can make your own cake mix as her children have allergies! Definitely a surprise winner as a gift!

What a great little cookbook, filled with easy and delicious recipes. Many years ago my mother showed me how to make a dump cake -- it was the cherries and pineapple recipe. I couldn't believe how tasty it was! I highly recommend this book. It has recipes for all tastes and for all seasons -- can't wait to try the pumpkin one! It is not a cookbook for those purists who wouldn't dream of making anything using a mix. But if you want to throw together an easy dessert, esp. after a long day at work, this is the one!

I had hoped for recipes more suitable to 4-6 servings than appeared in this book. I will, however, try the recipes when entertaining large groups. They seem to be easy to follow and require a minimum number of ingredients.

If you don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, this is a quick way to make "home made" cakes to take to a potluck or as a gift for a dinner you are attending. Nobody would guess how easy they are to make. They truly are "Dump Cakes". You just open the packages or cans and dump the ingredients in!I've spent many hours baking great deserts and the people NEVER appreciate the work that goes into them. I'm done with that! These taste just as good and I have better things to do with my time. Why not do it the easy way?

Lots of great dump cake recipes. There were a lot that I had never enjoyed. These cakes are so easy to make up quickly and everyone loves to eat them. Great to take for a potluck.

This spiral bound book has recipes that you need more than cake mix, fruit and butter to bake a cake. Good for beginner baker because recipes are easy and look like you've been baking all day. I bought this book as a gift for a friend who likes to bake.

I reviewed the Dump & Bake Cakes cookbook and found the pictures fuzzy. . If you don't find a wonderful pictureof a food you are deciding to cook you won't even try. I did not see anything there that interested me at all. I wouldpurchase Stephanie Ashcraft books instead. Her books on "what to do with a cake mix" include several dump cakes andeven though there are not any pictures the print is clear, easy to follow and the results are excellent. Great recipes.

Fun gift idea for the person who loves to bake but is short on time. The spiral binding allows the recipe book to lie flat on the counter. The recipes are easy to follow, tasty and the book includes good quality colored photos.
