This live center is a great bargain. I use it for penturning.I used a dial indicator incremented in 0.0005" per mark to measure the runout at the tip and I could detect no noticeable movement on the needle. The runout has to be around 0.0001" or 1/10000th of an inch or better. I will buy a couple more as spares.Fifteen to twenty years ago, it was not hyperbole to claim that all made in China machine accessories were almost all uniformly junk. It's not so anymore. Many Chinese manufacturers surely have caught up with improved manufacturing standards and quality and their prices are just impossible for western or Japanese products to beat for like quality products.

It's well manufactured and great quality. In a school shop, they get used heavily. I keep looking for a live center that parts don't come off because if they do, somehow the students find ways to lose them. :( So far, I'm impressed - if it stays that way, i'll order more & give another review when I do.

I opened it up to clean out the expect grit and it was spotless.Could not detect run out with a thou indicator.Very happy with this live center.It has a screw on the body for lubrication but there was no oil.There was a blob of grease on the very end of the spindle, rotating part.Still gets 5 stars. I have oil.

Good build for the money on a mini lathe. Added pics. Was bigger than expected

This thing is a beast. Huge. No runout.

Great live center, holds work pieces well with very little run out. Wasn’t turning at first but it moves well now. Seems to be right size for my lathe.

Head is just a little bit large.
