The Hoodoo Tarot: 78-Card Deck and Book for Rootworkers

I really loved the cards and the guide book. You can tell that the creator put a lot of thought, effort and research into creating these cards. The images are beautiful, I like the vintage feel. The guide book provides a lot of history for each image. This is a really good deck for connecting with your ancestors and building a stronger familia connection. I suggest buying the 2nd guidebook created by the same author to get even more use out of the deck.

Loveloveloveee this tarot deck. My family is originally from NOLA and has deep south roots. Entering my late 20’s as a Woman of Color, I wanted to reconnect with myself and those that came before me to see me here.The artwork is impeccable and the cards are easy to shuffle for their sizes. I like how the book gives proper instructions, along with backstories on the history of the cards & artwork.Highly recommend!!

I have become a collector of oracle and tarot cards.. this deck is by FAR the most potent and spiritually insightful deck that I work with!! All of my personal readings HAVE to include this deck and honestly, it's the only one I use most of the time. From the stories and the rich history, to the roots, the Scriptures and the IMAGERY?? 1000/10!! I have spiritually connected to this deck sooooo much and my ancestors and guides have been able to get the most deep and specific info to me using this deck. I literally cannot say enough about it. For such a long time, I have felt like such an outcast for my spiritual and psychic ability. I come from a Caribbean descent and never knew how to express my spirituality without being afraid of being judged.I spied on this deck and had it on my Favorites list, sitting there collecting dust for some time, and finally decided to purchase this deck.When I tell you, that this deck made me both laugh and cry. I didn’t even get a chance to do a spread and I am already in my feelings, I feel so warm, verified, validated and just accepted with this deck. I very rarely take time out to ever really write reviews especially for Divination tools I purchase via online, but Miss Tayannah Lee McQuillar...First off, THANK YOU for putting in so much time and energy into this project. Everything from Botanical Elements to The Holy Spirit... You did such an amazing job, man. When I tell you guys, she put in so much work and is so thorough with the education of Hoodoo. I was so ignorant to what Hoodoo was, (I thought I was doing a bad thing by purchasing a whole Hoodoo themed Tarot deck and literally prayed over the packaging before opening it as to insure nothing negative came from using it), and immediately felt so silly after reading the RICH history of what it really means. That it’s NOT a religion but it’s a culture, and inheritance of so many of our ancestors who have been tormented, stolen, abused and history erased — to still REFUSE to give up their identity and who they are! Where they’ve come from and what they use to help get through life. That is NOTHING to be ashamed of! I am PROUD to come from the descent and the ancestors before me!This Tarot deck has already opened up my eyes, and I’m just now opening up the second pack!It does not matter if you are of Black/African descent, Indigenous/Native American descent, Hawaiian Pacific descent, Asian descent, European descent...purchase this deck. Do not let the price scare you, it is so freaking worth it.Also, BIG props to Katelan V. Foisy! Her artwork, guys, I can’t even form words with how symbolic her artwork is and if you are an Intuitive Tarot card reader, you know how important the visuals that we get are and the art that is depicted on the cards plays a huge part. It’s amazing! I have chills all over right now. Get this deck!!!!!P.S.-This is the only Tarot deck I have ever purchased that made me fall in love with the devil card. I collect tarot decks and I don't know why I just bought this deck! OMG!!!! This deck is amazing holy cow!1st-the quality of the cards are outstanding, they shuffle so beautifully! Perfect size as well!2nd-the images .... they talk to you like literally! If you really read tarot you don't just look at the suits you look into the card the additional images in the cards and these cards tells you a story with just one card!3rd-the energy .... I literally had Goosebumps reading these the energy is of the chart! There is a lot of energy in these cards!4th-the book .... WOW this book is so intriguing I just sat and ready it before using the cards. I absolutely love this book!If you are thinking about it .. just get them omg they are amazing! I'm very very happy with them!Thank you for an amazing deck!

Este tarot lo uso casi siempre para mí.Es precioso pero siento que funciona muy bien para temas espirituales, ancestros y prácticas mágicas.No lo uso tanto para adivinación ni tampoco suelo ponerlo al servicio de otras personas. Tengo un vínculo estrecho con este Tarot.Si te gusta la cultura del Sur de Estados Unidos, te llama la atención la Obeah, el hoodoo este tarot te va a gustar muchísimo.No recomendando para aprensivos.

Ci fossero 20 stelline, non sarebbero comunque abbastanza! Solitamente non scrivo recensioni su tarocchi poiché le trovo inutili. In questo caso sarebbe un delitto non farlo. Innanzitutto dalle foto si nota subito di essere di fronte ad un vero e proprio cofanetto rigido, che protegge elegantemente i tarocchi ed il libro al suo interno... sì, libro, non un banale libretto di istruzioni! In esso è contenuta la storia dell'Hoodoo con riferimenti sociali e culturali che arricchiscono la nostra conoscenza. Vi è poi una parte dedicata alle potenziali modalità di lettura dei tarocchi, modalità ben diverse dal nostro modo europeo di concepire la cartomanzia, ossia modalità che prevedono un reale contatto con i propri antenati, le nostre linee di discendenza da cui trarre e a cui chiedere consigli, oltre che i classici responsi. Infine l'ultima parte è dedicata all'interpretazione dei tarocchi, divisi in Arcani Maggiori, Carte di personaggio (della Famiglia) e Arcani Minori. Anche in quest'ultima parte di descrizione dei tarocchi non è presente solo una definizione dei significati al positivo e al negativo della carta, ma anche il motivo per cui ad ogni carta è stata attribuita una certa raffigurazione grafica od un particolare personaggio del folklore o della società dell'epoca. Inoltre il tutto è corredato da riferimenti biblici e per nulla scabrosi come invece si taccia sempre l'Hoodoo. Sono carte assolutamente utilizzabili per letture approfondite e profonde, sia per noi stessi che per gli altri, poiché ogni carta è ricchissima di potenti e molteplici significati dati appunto dalla raffigurazione che gli è stata scelta, che aiuta intuitivamente il cartomante. Tenerle solo come mera collezione è assolutamente uno spreco! Anche perché sono carte di fattura robusta e seppur grandine , si prestano bene ad essere mescolate più e più volte. Inoltre hanno un costo che mi lascia sbalordita ossia le ho pagate poco meno di 20 Euro, mentre mazzi classici francesi o italiani in semplici custodie plastificate senza alcun libretto annesso, li ho pagati decisamente molto di più! Dunque direi assolutamente soddisfatta! Faccio un'ultima precisazione: il libro ed ogni parte di esso è interamente in lingua inglese, dunque, credo sia un prodotto per chi conosce bene questa lingua, poiché credo sia davvero faticoso e poco costruttivo cercare di tradurre ogni parola poiché non ne si conosce il significato, data la lunghezza del testo!
