Replacement
A long time ago i had this book and another and lost them due to situation, but i was able to replace the book finding it on amazon, it was in great condition with no folds or tears on the book. Now years later, i still have the book in great condition. Good to see this wasn't a knockoff.

Helpful and Cool
As a kid, I looked at many how-to art books, and they just never really helped me with anything; I couldn't follow them, or they were drawing in a way I didn't enjoy. So when I looked at this for my son's gift (thank you previews!), I dug deep into the meat of the book to glean just how useful it would be.I was surprised to see that the tips were both useful and easy to digest, the style/look was perfectly style-neutral, the designs were cool, and the whole thing was presented in an easy to understand way...it even had some cute, funny jokes and silliness on the pages and such that almost felt like a friend was there walking you through the process. My son loved the books (got several in the series at once), and enjoyed doing the practice exercises and designs. I wish I had these when I was learning to draw as a kid...

Even more fantastic dragons!
DragonArt Evolution expands on the previous book from J. "NeonDragon" Peffer, DragonArt , giving a full treatment to the art of drawing dragons. As in her previous book, she provides a plethora of easy to follow step-by-step instructions with her inspiring art. This is an amazing book for anyone who loves dragon-inspired art, or wants to create their own dragon artwork. This book is divided as follows:Introduction- How To Use The Book- Dragon Basic Shapes- Dragon Shading and 3-D Effects- Perspective and Overlap- Color And Pattern ConsiderationsPart 1: Dragon Anatomy and Equipment- Eyes- Overbite Jaw- Underbite Jaw- Beak Jaw- Ears- Horns- Dragon Wings- Scales- Dragon Limbs- Dragon Bridles and SaddlesPart 2: Dragon Demonstrations- Dragon Head Shapes- Dragon Expressions- Medieval Dragons- Lung Dragons- Dragon Hatchlings- Fairy Dragon- Sea Dragon- Dragon Lich- Feathered Dragon- Mesoamerican Dragon- Dragon Rider- Dragon SceneThe sections in the Introduction were repeated from the first DragonArt book, with the exception of Color And Pattern Considerations. In contrast, Part 1 is much elaborated and detailed than similar sections in the before mentioned book. However, Part 2 is the best part of this book, with page after page full of tutorials about drawing dragons. Here you will learn how to draw all sort of dragons, showing dragon heads from front, side and 3/4 view, and full dragon views. I also found the Dragon Scene section to be interesting albeit short, providing an overview on how the scenes found in this book were painted digitally. There should be plenty of dragons for every one in this book. However, 144 pages were not enough for me, but that is because I can never get enough from J. Peffer's artwork.Other books from J. Peffer include: DragonArt: How to Draw Fantastic Dragons and Fantasy Creatures DragonArt Fantasy Characters: How to Draw Fantastic Beings and Incredible Creatures

Great Dragon book for anyone! Seriously, just buy it!!!
I'm a rising artist in her third year of highschool. I got my first Peffer book in the fifth grade and loved it. Sadly, it was stolen. I quickly replaced the stolen book with an earlier book of hers titled "Dragonart: How to Draw Fantastic Dragons and Fantasy Creatures." This book goes into the technique of dragons and various other mythical beasts such as unicorns, gryphons, chimeras and phoenixes. It is still a favorite but not the item I am reviewing."Dragonart Evolution" is the most perfect dragon-drawing book I have ever encountered (and believe me, I have a LOT of drawing books). The examples cover a broad range of dragon types and positions (like flying, resting, or from the back) and even goes into more detailed descriptions on features such as horns, wings, and tails. The examples and tutorials given are well-written and clearly explained, giving the reader a lot of room for their own touches of creativity. I apply techniques taken from this and Peffer's other book in my own art every day, such as the simple skeletal structures used in the planning of a piece to the end coloring and finishing.I would highly recommend this book to any artist, whether you are inexperienced and looking for a place to start, or you've been at your trade for a while and just want a wonderful reference book to have on hand.I hope this review helped :D

Well designed.
Well designed drawing manual. My daughter received this for a gift a few months ago and uses it daily. She finds the instructions easy to follow and her satisfaction with her drawing has increased measurably. I would consider purchasing this as a gift for other dragon enthusiasts in her set.
