This is a momentary switch
The switch was fine and appeared to be an original switch. Their description of a “spring return “ means that this is a momentary switch. The pictures show an on- off-on switch but this is not that. Returned to purchase the correct switch.

This is a "momentary" switch. That is what "spring returned" means.
I did not know the "spring-returned" jargon---my bad. I think the seller could have easily and should have made that clear in the description. I wasted time and shoipping charges on this returned item. If you don't want to have to hold onto the switch handle to keep power flowing do not buy a spring-returned switch.
