Does not feel like an alien nor predator story
Not too thrilled with this series. While it was filled with aliens, and more than a few predators, it did not have the feel of either franchise. The aliens were no more than weapons and the predators felt like were little more than cameos. My favorite characters were already dead by the time the story gets to this volume and none of the remaining were overly developed nor interesting. Essentially, a lot of carnage on a large scale, but little concern for any of the actual characters.

Not bad ending but.....
*Review number 55*Definitely had some suspense going into this read. After finishing book 2 I jumped right into this one. For the most part the book was really good. Good action good story. The ending seemed rushed. Having the "Faze" involved seemed dumb. No real explanation, no closure, just kinda 'hey look, it's this thing we found that does cool things!' (The author does go into a little more detail than that but not much). There are some things left to wonder but I suppose that would be in any book. I'm glad I read it. Like I said good action, good story, Predator involvement was great. Could have used one more chapter explaining certain things though.

A decent but flawed conclusion
As much as I enjoyed this trilogy, I think the final part is a little disappointing. While most of the story was great it doesn't really explain certain mysteries (like the Faze) and the wrap up at the end is a little too quick with quite a few of the characters being ignored. Also the ending suffers from Death Star syndrome, where the unbeatable foe is defeated via a single weak point.I suspect maybe the success of the story means there's going to be a follow-up and so a more open ended conclusion was written. That said, it's still a great read and the first Aliens story in absolutely ages that goes beyond the cliched story of dropping some Colonial Marines into a xenomorph hive and slowly killing them all off.

Thrilling, Chilling End to the Series
This book is the exciting conclusion of the Rage War. All loose ends are tied up and paths intersect to change the course of the war. Lilliya finally meets those who can help and a desperate plan is put into action. Along the way the slaughter continues. It is ironic that while humanity has ventured out into the stars and met threats like the Aliens and Yaujita predators, the biggest threat comes from humanity itself. A thrilling, chilling end to the series, that also sees the Company enacting its own doomsday. The audio book version was good, read by John Chancer who did a decent job with the material.

Slightly Disappointed
This was probably the weakest of the trilogy. There were moments where the book really shined (Weaver World and the Charion). But overall it felt rushed and unpleasantly predictable. I dont know if the author had a page limit but if more effort went into character development and descriptions of the environment and atmosphere this would have been a worthy conclusion to the series.

Very good for the Aliens vs. Predator genre.
Great pace. I was a little disappointed with the ending. I would say more but I do not want to spoil it for anyone. Overall this is a very good series for anyone who is a fan of the Aliens vs. Predator genre.

New and Improved AvP Made Me Miss the Good Old Days
The Rage War series was a very ambitious addition to the Alien/Predator universe. It is advanced farther into the future than other entries and subsequently had a bunch of new "improvements" for a universe that already seemed pretty established to me. Human technological advancements have given them parody with Predators, Aliens are new and improved but are being controlled by others. There is also a new faction, with entirely new technology, with entirely confusing motivations brought in to punish everyone for a slight that never happened a long time ago.I didn't enjoy this book in particular (or the series overall), because there was just too much going on to be covered in 3 relatively short books. I've gotten a little weary of the cataclysmic enemy that is unstoppable except for the one little thing that they overlooked that can be exploited by a very small group. To me, increasing the omnipotence of the antagonist doesn't make the story more compelling, it just makes me feel that I wasted an awful lot of time reading about characters and locations that had no impact on the final outcome of the book.

Had to Return :-(
As with most other 'Trilogies' the third book became an exercise in stretching the story into a trilogy. It didn't really explain anything anything new and the story dallied (as it did in the second book - but to a greater extent) and didn't really get into the 'meat' of anything.I stopped reading when one of the 'main' characters managed to 'craft' himself into a 'new being' after being in several several plasma fires, had a severely broken body, system glitches and a whole other range of battle damage, managed to heave himself back to his main base, augment himself (despite blacking out from a system glitches), use 'nano tech' (that had somehow survived the severely battle damaged and broken vessel) and then launch a successful attack on a predator (with no system glitches) because of the 'background radiation' obscuring it's vision.Fair enough...fair enough, we all know about the Predators inferred vision but I am sure that this was the first time that it was written in the story...and in the past two books it seemed as if the Predators (inferred) were reacting to facial looks or reactions and I remember thinking...'but how'...for me, it all seemed a bit 'convenient' for the sake of convenience's sake.At that point, I actually sat up and was like, no way, this can't be going where I think it is...well. It did. Then I returned the book for a full refund. Not to rubbish the author, but I think this is the 'status quo' in writing a 'trilogy' series.Stories that could easily be told in one solid novel (possibly two) are stuffed full with 'filler' spreading over three books diminishing the integrity overall story.I also think that writing for a franchise cannot be easy also, as you may have to have a limit to your creativity to fit within the bounds of the 'universe'.In this case, the first book was the 'best' and things started to fall apart in the second instalment...This Story Stretching can be seen in Mass Effect, Dead Space and Resistance.Video Games yes, but if you pay attention to the stories, they are out of this world. The pinnacle of each game were their second instalments. And then their third instalments?...Well I think their franchises are now well and truly dead...Sadly.

I waited for Rage Wars 1, 2 and 3 to read together :)
I already had Rage Wars 1 and 2, but waited till 3 came out so I could read them in consecutively. I like a long read! It's a fast-moving and far-ranging plot so I'm glad I did, or there could have been confusion trying to remember the many characters and locations. I did enjoy them, though I have read ones I enjoyed more. 'Earth Hive' is terrifying, and Machigo Noguchi in AVP is one of my favourite characters in the franchise, so look out for her.

Amazing
If you are even considering reading an aliens or predator book you need to read this series. I did not want to finish this book as im now stuck back in crappy reality! This book tops if the series brilliantly, the rage, the predators, aliens, humans and androids in one massive action packed epic war. Definitely one of the best series I have read, I cannot rate it high enough. This needs to be made into a film!!!Definitely a fan of Tim lebbon now.Excellent work, highly recommended.
